If you haven't watched the trailer yet, you'll do it now.
From what it seems, the amount of cameos in this movie are going to be insane. Let's just hope they give Metroid some love in one form or another.

Re: Wreck-it RalphHuh. Very Curious to how this will turn out. And yes, PLEASE a Metroid cameo somewhere!

Re: Wreck-it RalphOkay, I saw posters for this and thought it was dumb looking. Trailer has me sold. I have to see this just for the cameos.

Re: Wreck-it Ralphi know Zangief would have one scene, maybe two, tops, but it'd be so great if he'd just be a reoccurring minor character.

Re: Wreck-it RalphI saw Bowser and was sold. Also, great casting in having Jane Lynch as the Commander Shepherd/Master Chief/Samus surrogate (even if Samus is far from the stereotypical space marine). Now all we need is a cameo from Mario himself and this'll enter Roger Rabbit levels of game cameos. Though apparently a leaked picture of Ralph had him with blue overalls just like Mario.

Re: Wreck-it Ralph
It's pretty obvious that Fix-it Felix is inspired by Mario and Ralph is a human version of Donkey Kong. Play Fix-it Felix Jr. on the official site. Cameos I'm hoping for, but may not happen: Samus, Leisure Suit Larry, Centipede, Dig Dug, Link or Zelda, the Vic Viper, Billy & Jimmy Lee, Bill Rizer and Lance Bean, any nods to the Castlevania series, Arkanoid, Bubble Bobble, Tetris (that's probably a given).... oh the list goes on. |

Re: Wreck-it Ralph
Well, yeah, but Mario clearly exists in the movie's world considering that Bowser has made a cameo. If you're going to make a videogame movie might as well have the face of gaming himself show up (kinda like how Bugs and Mickey, arguably the two most iconic animated characters of all time, showed up in Roger Rabbit). I do expect more cameos, though my preferences are too friggin' long to list. |

Re: Wreck-it RalphA press release from Disney revealed some other game cameos, including Ryu and Ken from Street Fighter as well as Sonic the Hedgehog. Their current voice actors will be reprising their roles for the cameos.

Re: Wreck-it RalphI would be surprised if Nintendo would allow the use of Bowser without including Mario, since it is an opportunity for some free advertising.

Re: Wreck-it Ralph
From what I've heard, Mario's not appearing at all. Disney couldn't or wouldn't meet Nintendo's price, apparently. = Ultimate WarriorTherefore, Now you know why they call it Metroid. --- This is the song, written for the chase scene! This is the song, Samus and James! He tri-ied to kill me with a forklift! (Ole!) |

Re: Wreck-it RalphI hate to be a Debbie Downer here, but y'know, every time I re-watch that trailer, even having seen it in the theater before Spider-Man, I like it less. I'm sure there are going to be lots of fun cameos, cool, even funny moments, and a general celebration of the video game medium. But in the end, it's just going to be Disney, Disney, Disney. And that's what disappoints me the most.

Re: Wreck-it RalphThanks for posting, aiddon. I still hate that Disney pop music bullshit. But I guess "that's what all the kids are into these days."
![]() The hardcore female space marine character reminds me heavily of Samus, so I kinda don't expect them to have a cameo of her at this point. I did spot Dig Dug though, which I was happy to see. |

Samus Aran Gets Awesome Homage In "Wreck-It Ralph"So, you guys are probably at least peripherally aware of this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=btB8tb8fLYM Disney, apparently embarrassed by how much Pixar has supplanted them, decided to make a very good movie. Wreck-It Ralph is one part TRON, two parts Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, and three parts Toy Story. I very luckily got to go to an early screening, and it is outstanding. Also, blatantly targeted at people who grew up playing video games, which is a larger and larger percentage of the population every year. There are many, many cameos but most of them are very, very brief. A few do contribute to the story, and those scenes tend to be excellent. I did not see Samus Aran in the movie, although it's possible she was in one of several crowd shots... but more about that in a second. What you may *not* be aware of, regarding Wreck-it Ralph, is that parts of the movie take place in this game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tDfYyktNA48 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JPL_eyASTY That character you're all thinking about now? Her name is Sergeant Tamora Jean Calhoun. See, Wreck-It Ralph and Fix-it Felix themselves are homages to Donkey Kong and Mario, and Donkey Kong and Mario don't make appearances in the film. Samus Aran doesn't make an appearance either... but there is a tough-as-leather-made-from-nails female space marine who is obsessed with fighting alien monsters. She's one of the four main protagonists, although the most minor of them. She's voiced by Jane Lynch. Here is some of her concept art, in case you're still doubtful: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Q5GfP3HJaq0/U ... alhoun.jpg While it's up for interpretation whether or not she *is* an homage, as an homage I personally found her an awesome one, especially since the movie seems to be poking fun in a very meta way at how Samus Aran's character has been developed over the years. In the words of one gravelly-voiced space marine, "She's been programmed with the most tragic backstory ever." Go see this movie in two weeks. Don't go see it just for Calhoun; she's only a supporting character. Go see it because it's an excellent movie all around, and Disney should be rewarded for finally trying to get with the times. |
