Considering it was Friday the 13th, it probably was just someone trying to scare you based on the movie of the same name, featuring a killer in a hockey mask. Still, that would freak me out.
What's this 'Faces of Death' is it real footage of people dying or something? Sounds nasty.

Yes "Faces of Death" was a series of movies that depicted real killings. The few that I saw were someone killed by firing squad. An old video of a man being pulled apart by horses. The aftermath of a man being hit by a train. The horrible, HORRIBLE look on the face of a guy who's head was being sawwed off (though I may have seen this one somewhere else). I worked at a video store then and it was a top shelf vid (thank god). There was another series just like it but I don't recall what it was called. It was just utterly sickening. and I agree, it was likely someone screwing around with us, but still, secluded house in the woods (i hadn't even known it was Friday the 13th at the time). It wasn't till a few years later that I learned what exactly Friday the 13th was.

I am fairly good at dealing with blood and gore. Movies are easy to get through because you know the stuff isn't real. Harder is watching real operations on the Discovery Channel or TLC. I've disected frogs without getting nautious. One time I even held a pig's heart in my hand, then I had to leave class early to reherse for the school production of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. I was Wonka. Witch is actually the origin of half my screen name.

...WHY. People are sick. Maybe I've said this before, but I'm afraid of being assaulted. If I'm walking by myself at night, I run scenarios about what I'd do. My freshman or sophomore year, I had a small can of mace. Now I just have a pocket knife, and I'm very aware of my surroundings. I try to stick with people or groups. Yup. Also bears. I used to have nightmares about dinosaurs, but now I've moved on to bears. Not a whole lot, but on occasion. Bears lurking in our back woods and me trying to keep the cats inside...

Eep. Pedobear won the cosplay contest here in Curitiba last Sunday. It digivolved from Mr. Bean's Teddy. And then raped the younger cosplayers.
Anyway... Fears and phobias. I have arthropodophobia. I seriously hate all beings with more legs than necessary. I like to squash them for fun. And cávelphobia. Caused by a traumatizing experience during an MSN Messenger conversation where "cável" appeared after every message I sent.cável

I wouldn't say I have hydrophobia; I'm a good swimmer and have 2 varsity letters from it. It's just that, when I'm in deep water which I can't see through (such as the ocean), I freak out. If I can't touch the bottom, I'm not putting my head under. It's not always very rational. For instance, when I look down a hot spring or a geyser, and realize that the tunnel extends all the way to the mantle (or so), I begin to freak out (mostly in my head). It doesn't matter that if I fell in, depth would be the least of my problems-- it's just that it's there.
I also have a fear of large boats. I never want to be on a large boat. I imagine if I was stranded in the ocean and an aircraft carrier was moving towards me, I would have a heart attack.

What is it about the depth that scares you? The possibility of leviathans from the depths swimming up and eating you?
Sea monsters freak me out, and yet I am totally intrigued by any sort of creature that is so massive.

Aircraft carriers. He totally said that already. Not sure if that counts as a phobia, though. Being attacked by an aircraft carrier is a very rational fear.

I have a fear of bees, wasps, and the like. Not entirely sure why, I just kind of freak out when one gets near me. One time a bee landed on my hand - I was outside and had spilled some juice or something on my hand - and I nearly passed out. As soon as it flew away I booked it up the street. I was only 8 or something like that, so I might have overreacted just a bit, but still. I just hate bees with a vengeance. The things creep me out.

Bees are adorable. And interesting. Good ol' hive minds, what fun.

When I'm in the shower, I'm afraid to wash my hair because I might open my eyes and find someone standing there. People say I'm crazy (just a little touch), but maybe showers remind me of Psycho too much.

I'm basically the same, I don't like that possibility. Also, When i take my shirt off I do it in such a way it never fully obscures my vision.
