Re: Doctor Who: RTD is a hackWe haven't got it yet here in Australia. I think we see it on the 18th of April. Can't wait.

Re: Doctor Who: RTD is a hackYeah, USA doesn't get it till around then. Of course, my dorm doesn't get BBC America, so I watched it online...twice.
I really like Matt Smith. Not as great as David Tennant, but really awesome nonetheless. I didn't care for the new theme, though. ![]() |

Re: Doctor Who: RTD is a hackBBC America is a neat channel, the only tv channel I watch news on.

Re: Doctor Who: RTD is a hack
I'm okay with it. I like it better than ten's. I really wish they'd make it sadder and more mysterious sounding again, though, like it was back in the old days. That would honestly fit the new Dr. Who better than it fit the old one, what with him now being the last of his species and so forth. |

Re: Doctor Who: RTD is a hackI saw the S5 opener the other day on BBC's iPlayer thanks to some proxy nonsense. Really am surprised at how competent a Doctor Matt Smith is. He's like Tennant, but happier. Also, I agree with everyone who comments on Amy Pond's backstory. Very simple but effective.
One review I read said this is a good jumping off point for people who are new to the series, and I couldn't agree more. New Doctor, New sidekick, Hell, the TARDIS was even redesigned. Overall I'm very much looking forward to this season.

Re: Doctor Who: RTD is a hackGreat episode, hopefully the quality of writing for later episodes improves now that Moffat is at the helm.

Re: Doctor Who: RTD is a hackI'm certain it will, he really is a great writer. Now that I think about it, my top 3 British tv shows are Doctor Who, Coupling, and Jekyll. And only a few days ago did I figure out they were all by him.
