Re: YouTube. It's here and there to be found. I also know some Russian ex-pats who introduced me to Russian animation, so I have some idea what to look for. (This one I ran into accidentally though.)

Re: YouTube. The fact that I'm posting this right after the video Mental posted is actually completely coincidental. Anyway, this is absolutely fantastic.

Re: YouTube.By the way, if you are a Hiayo Miyazaki fan -- Miyazaki is a huge Hegehog in the Fog fan, and he's identified it as an influence on his own work.

Re: YouTube.
Now that you mention it, I can definitely see the influence in Miyazaki's work. Apparently Hedgehog in the Fog was selected as the best animated film of all time in 2003. I must admit, I really do like the animation style. And Outlaw, that owl is DAMN creepy. But not too bright. It looked like Hedgehog was purposefully distracting him at the beginning. Also, is the water actual footage? Because it looks real. And now that I think about it, so does the fog. ![]()

Re: YouTube. The water IS real footage. It's a technique USSR animators used in a lot of stop motion cartoons.
The whole cartoon is a cutout, if you by any chance haven't noticed. Just like the first South Park. And the water in these cartoons always bugged me. It was that one thing that didn't fit in there. Well, what do you know... I just made weirdest my post yet (4 equal rows, each with 2 sentences). I know how to spell GENIOUS nowbaremyarcticblast
