Strange Places & CreaturesJust post pics or videos of strange, eerie or alien-like environment or creatures. It can be something from Earth, other planets in the solar system. So yeah, this is about making a gallery of sorts.

Re: Strange Places & CreaturesOh my, it's Skyloft! That one is actually in the three-way border between Brazil, Venezuela and Guyana. Roraima is also the name of the Brazilian state in that area. I've heard of it before, but it's not talked about much around here... There was a user here who added a Metroid mix to that picture: ![]() Anyway, here are some interesting views in Brazil: The Iguaçu Falls: ![]() The Lençóis Maranhenses (it's hard to find a literal translation for that): ![]() |

Re: Strange Places & CreaturesCorrect me if I'm wrong, but I believe those last two are colorized images from an electron microscope. Looks awesome, though.

?![]() The world's saltiest lake in Antarctica, it never freezes because it's roughly 144x as salty as salt water ![]() Called by many the most alien place on earth: Socotra island ![]() The so-called "door to hell". Some explorers lit it up 40 years ago to eliminate the poisonous gases... it may take a while. It's still burning today... Edit: Yay, we now have almost enough strange places for an entire Metroid game Also, here's the water bear, capable of surviving near absolute zero to 151 degrees celsius, being in a vacuum, 1200x atmospheric pressure, a blast of radiation 1000x stronger than what humans can survive, and going into space unprotected.
