On the topic of bug phobias, I HATE wasps
Also I was hit on the head several times as a toddler (once so hard that I lost ten minutes' memory), and I've set off a rocket inside my house

Were you bitten by one?

I don't mind spiders, but I do have a funny story. I got in the car with my dad and we were pulling out of the driveway when I felt a little rustling around my toes. So I take my shoe off and out leapt a 4-inch spider. It leapt a good 3 feet straight at my face. Obviously I screamed and my dad slammed on the breaks. He says "Oh, sorry, I forgot to tell you there is a giant spider living in our garage and you should check your shoes before putting them on". He said that at one point he was teasing it with a rake and leapt 5 feet straight at him.

I obviously wasn't bitten by a grasshopper, but hey, were all arachnophobes bitten by spiders? Exactly.

Also, I'll admit, if a spider jumped on my face, I would be pretty scared. However, it's size wouldn't natter to me, as all spider are the same to me. (Unless you live in Australia, then God help you)

That's one HUGE spider. Yes, I would need new shorts after seeing that.

How about answering your phone when the waitress is taking your order. And talking for 5 minutes. Fuuuuuck.

I wasn't criticizing your phobia, I was just curious. I was bitten by a grasshopper, so I was wondering if anyone else had the same experience. It was a really big one, to.

I am, or at least I used to be, a somnambulant AKA sleepwalker, though apparently I haven't done any sleepwalking in years. I'm not sure if this is a dream or a real thing that happedned but one night I suddenly found myself in my backyard in my pajamas. Naturally I freaked out, ran back into the house and jumped into bed as fast as I could.

I've found just about anything will bite if you put your finger too close to its mouth. It didn't hurt (it didn't even pinch), but it still made the effort. And this was a really, really big grasshopper, so if that couldn't hurt I doubt any of them could. Well, maybe a 8-in long giant weta might:

Ugh...I absoltely hate spiders. I tried to get over the fear by handling small ones but I just can't cope with the larger ones (about 2-3 inches up).
