Loki!

Postby Hawk's Eye » 05.25.12 1:02am

So if you have seen Avengers or Thor...let's discuss Loki's character.

Because I think he deserves a little more credit than people look into.

He is also pretty cute lol

Feel free to post fanart, fics and amvs; etc.

In what way does he deserve more credit? I thought he was a pretty mediocre villain in both films he's appeared in.

Avengers was a really fun film but beyond the awesome set pieces and the banter there wasn't a great deal going on, though I think the film would have suffered if they tried doing anything more with the characters, they should leave that stuff for their individual films.

Anyway, yeah Loki, nice hair.

He certainly wasn't an amazing villain, but he was a fun character.

They had to keep the villain straightforward in The Avengers, because the focus was getting the heroes to work together. Now that they got the introduction out of the way, I'd expect the next movies' evil schemes to be a bit more interesting.

If recent reports are to believed, Loki will be a side villain to Enchantress in Thor 2. I'm hoping since he's been imprisoned he plays a Hannibal Lecter esque role; imprisoned and taunting the heroes and advising about the main villain, only to escape during the climax, ending in a cliffhanger.

But that's just me.

I'm personally more looking forward to the villain teased in the post credits scene. I hope they continue to tease him throughout the other movies so that they flesh him out.

I hope they handle him better in the movies because in the comics that guy is a really blatant mary sue. Terrible character. Maybe I'm being too pessimistic here, the movies have done a pretty good job of turning shitty characters into amazing ones (see: Iron Man).

M.O.D.O.K should be the badguy in the next film :P

I agree. There have been some good
Thanos
stories though, and there are a couple different versions of him they can pull from.

As in, people hate on him for being the villain when he was actually a pretty emotionally driven and human-like villain which, in my opinion, means a pretty darn good villain.

See, I like his character too. :P

I liked Loki in The Avengers. And he had the best scene in the entire movie (sort of).

Haha I'm glad you liked my idea.

And yes, that scene was hilarious, however
when Hulk punches Thor after their team-up
takes a close second.

He is a little brat who was jealous of Thor, got his arse kicked when he tried doing away with him then somehow came back to take over earth in retaliation... Human-like? Yeah if you compare to 13 year old human or so.

I agree that his motives were a bit black and white and lame, but his performance was still great.

He was a guy who spent his entire life getting treated second to his brother, and while he did get jealous, he was very caring of his brother until he realizes that his father kept the secret that he was a
frost giant
alllll his life. And then he kinda goes crazy because suddenly he realizes why he was treated second and that, even though his father tried to say "One of you will the thrown," it would never be true because..well Thor was pretty much guaranteed the thrown..Loki was just being lied to...
watch this first scene..it's great to show how he really was.

All Loki did in Avengers was hold his head down, look up, and slowly smile.

Every single scene he was in.

Like, that's the extent of what he did in the entire movie.
