I need a laugh today. This wasn't funny to me, but I'm sure it will be to everyone else.
I rode Stella (bareback, halter instead of a bridle) down to the pasture to turn her out. I undid the lower of the two strands of electric fencing, took her lead off, grabbed her halter and prepared to undo the top strand and gently push her into the field (Its not the correct procedure, but I do it all the time). I reached for the top strand...and got zapped by the fence. And as you probably know, one, when you hold a horse's halter, there is no way to avoid touching their face, and two, humans and horses both conduct electricity; she got zapped, too. It wasn't high enough voltage to hurt, but it sure as hell scared us both!

I'm a hornist in high school band. I played trumpet 5 years before this. There's only one other horn player and he is a swinging dick and a juggernaut.
I write music related to metroid on synthesizers a lot, and I'm semi decent. But I never really play it on any real instrument because I don't think I actually know how to play them.

I'll say it again; the French Horn is a beast of an instrument. I would attempt it if I could buzz (that's why I can't play brass ). As for the swinging dick thing, at least one horn player I have associated with has been something to that effect. I knew a girl named Kiri* who was a bitch (and also a whore, I found out later). Then, this guy named Larry* was a dick to me. However, karma's a bitch, as well; Kiri is at a horrible school and Larry got arrested for possession of weed (which he was smoking at the time), cigarettes, and dip. *Names changed, obviously. As much as I hate them, I don't want them to find out I'm talking about them; I'd prefer NOT to have a criminal record (which I would have if they attempted murder; I'd kick their asses).

I mean swinging dick in the coolest possible sense. Look it up on urban dictionary. He's a great guy, really shy though.
Honestly every horn player I've met that's not me has really impressed the heck out of me. I'm easily impressed when it comes to horn, though.

Ah. Well aren't I awkward?
Social sayings aren't my forte. Memes, music, metroid, and horses are where my expertise lies.

That's a weird combination, haha. I can't relate to memes and horses unfortunately :<

Well since you can relate and it's on topic, what kind of music do you listen to? I prefer Metallica, Nirvana, and things of that nature.

Oh, yeah, I kind of like them. I like Red Hot Chili Peppers and Foo Fighters, so I see where you're coming from. They're a bit less hardcore and grungy and more funky, though.
Oh, I also like a lot of electronic, like gabber and breakcore and stuff of that nature. Not always that loud and hardcore though.

O...k? So, uh...which Metroid games have you played and which ones do you think have the best music?

I've played most of them, and the primes definitely have the overall best music, especially one and three. I usually use Metroid Prime 1's music as reference for equalization and resonance just because it's so well mastered. But I do have a soft spot for Metroid II's music.

I personally cannot decide which game's music I like best. The Prime series had some epic tunes, Other M's orchestration was gorgeous, and the 2D classics are awesome in a way that is akin to the way 80's music is still popular; it's just that cool.

I personally didn't think the Other M music was that memorable. I mean, I suppose it was good, but it didn't really leave a lasting impression on me at all.

I'm a band kid. Orchestrated pieces are like icing on the cake for me. Or actually, they're like chocolate chips on ice cream; I'm not a cake and icing person.

I'm a band kid too, but for some reason it's always the choruses that send shivers down my spine. Like the beginning of Metroid Prime 3. Except there is a little hope in my heart somewhere deep down that it was a really good additive synthesizer. Because those move me a lot too. come to think of it, that wasn't an original at all, but I mean it was done by a Metroid sound team, so that kind of counts.

If we're talking about spine shivering pieces, I'd have to say that the game music doesn't often do that (I'm too focused on killing the Pirates and stuff) but Torvus Bog Subterranean was...exquisite. It's one of those that you put on endless repeat when you can't sleep at night.
