How Old Is Everyone- 2015 Edition

As requested by a few of us, the poll for the previous incarnation of this topic is several years old and it's time for a new one.

So how old are you? Are you a first gen Metroid fan or did you grow up with the Prime games in the spotlight?

I'm turning 24 next month, so I grew up in the time when the Prime Trilogy, Hunters, and Fusion/Zero Mission got a lot of attention. It was pretty glorious.

Also, this time, I've put in an option for users to change their vote- so if you enter a new age bracket, just revote. That way we don't need a 2020 edition ;)

I'm currently 21 years old. I mainly grew up with the GLORIOUS GameCube era of the Prime Trilogy, and they still remain my favorites today! I still had some playtime with the classics like Super of course, though.
;)

Still the same vote: 41+ .. no need to revote any time soon ;)

And I guess I grew up in the NES era, but I've never seen one in those days. I did witness the launch of the GameBoy and SNES and chose to get the GB above the Atari Lynx and Sega GameGear that were also available. The next year, Metroid II was there and it became my most (re)played GB game.

I think I'm going to hold my vote until December when I turn 26.

I'll claim 2nd oldest for the time being as I turn 38 on the 25th. While my first system was a 2600, it wasn't until I opted for the Sega Master System over the infinitely more popular NES so that I could play Phantasy Star that I became a "gamer." My first Metroid experience was the original on my cousin's NES. We played through in a marathon session over a weekend.

I've always been a huge pinball fan and play whenever I can. There's just something about the physical interaction between you and the machine that I've always loved.

Like I said there's now the ability to change your vote!

Aaaand I totally missed that. Wow.
Well, there's also that issue with members who are here now may not continue to be active in a couple of years. Naner, TheBlackCat, Tianna, Zero┬║, Emperor Ing (although I have this itch that he'll pop up again in a month or two), MaiAreeSquee (did I spell that right?), Chozo Child... I'm sure there are many more. Sure enough, they seemed like regulars if not integral members to our community but, well, life happens and for some reason or another, they moved on. We don't know who will still be around posting here years from now. By then this thread will be a relic showing how old were the members of yore.

Just my two cents.

I miss a lot of those people. I see Naner on Facebook pretty frequently, wish he'd continue here.

Not that the current group don't measure up; it just would be nice to see some of the Old Guard again.

:gsamus: (this is my reminiscing smilie)

Who knows, maybe Federation Force will be improbably decent and bring us some fresh meat/new blood.

Just saying, if there's any important take away from Other M, it's that nothing spurs conversation and an influx of new members like a controversy.

I joined right around then, and I remember so did quite a few others... and it was the most active time period that I can think of.

So maybe Federation Force will get new people to join, whether it's good OR bad.

I read some of the stuff he posted from days of old but I dare not bring it up for fear of heavily derailing topics and/or getting smacked by a senior member.

I know I'm young since I'm 19 but man, games really know how to make you feel old. I was 5 when I first played Halo. 5! I was but a small child. I also remember when Megaman Starforce 3 was first being revealed through trailers and then people were showing off stuff on the japanese copies back in early 2009. Any bit of info was so exciting. Where has the time gone?

I've always been a huge pinball fan and play whenever I can.
I had a Gundam Wing pinball machine in my room and oh my god it played loud music and made loud sounds and woke everyone up in the house. I am guilty of tilting... and thinking that sitting on it was a good idea.

Thanks for making my Sunday wonderful. Oh man. What a flashback. I really, REALLY want him to come back and post some kind of whacked theory about Federation Force.

That would just make my day.
