Why do you think Samus let Ridley Go?

It's a simple question I think.

I'm going to have to go with Warrior's Pride/Honor here myself. Without Anthony's help, she'd have lost. She basically saw no honor in killing Ridley when she won unfairly, when in previous fights she won without the need of aid (Power Suit excluded of course).

Because he had to appear in Fusion, therefore Samus had to made the bad decision of letting him live to be later captured and frozen. I really don't think there is any canon reason for this decision actually, I can think of a few reasons, but they feel like excuses to me. This also works in favor of moving the "Adam plot" further.

Naïveté, pure and simple. Just like with the rescuing of the baby Metroid back on SR388. Sams didn't grow and learn to know better until the events of, well, Other M and later on in Fusion. She also forgot that you are always supposed to "double tap" an enemy that is down for good measure.

Maybe the ridley-banned smiley means that post was in jest, but no, the Ridley on the Bottle ship is the Ridley you find on BSL. I don't think they'd go out of there way to remove his corpse if that wasn't the point they were trying to make.
