Will (and should) Hunters appear in Other M?In the past few Metroid games new Hunter characters have been introduced. Should they play a role in Other M?

Re: Will (and should) Hunters appear in Other M?Well, the hunters from Corruption are dead, and I doubt they would include any of the hunters from MPH, given that the Prime games are kept entirely separate from the classic ones. I wouldn't want them to be included anyway, although there are certain people who might disagree with me (of whom you will learn very quickly).

Re: Will (and should) Hunters appear in Other M?No, I do not want any other hunters in this game.
I don't want computer-men telling me about how inefficient things superficially appear to be, nor do I want lesbian shapeshifters hitting on me. I just want to run around a large open planet wiping out all indigenous flora and fauna, and lots of Space Pirates. That's all Metroid Other M needs to do for it to be a near-perfect game in my eyes.

Re: Will (and should) Hunters appear in Other M?I wouldn't mind seeing some hunters appear in MoM. I'm keeping a very open mind about this game because it looks like it just might take anything and everything that is metroid and move it in a direction I never dreamed of. As long as I understand that I have no control over where they take this series and I have no definite ideas of what/how metroid is 'supposed to be' (other than just being a quality game), then I won't be disappointed.

Re: Will (and should) Hunters appear in Other M?Hear, Hear.
Honestly, I have no idea whether or not I want other hunters to appear in Other M. Although I think that it would kind of fit in better with them because Other M will be more story driven, like Corruption. Hence, other bounty hunters appeared. BLARG!

Though not the same ones as in MP3:C or MPH. And as long as they don't take too much spotlight. ![]() Thanks to Kaiser for the sig and avatar. |

Re: Will (and should) Hunters appear in Other M?No. You will never see the day that Yoshio Sakamoto acknowledges anything that transpired in the Prime series or Hunters. He has made it very clear that he does not consider any of those games to be part of Metroid's main story.

Re: Will (and should) Hunters appear in Other M?Probably so. I've been pulling this chart out a lot lately, but in terms of which games reference each other, this is the current situation:
![]() It's been eight years now, and so far the Classic/Sakamoto continuity hasn't made a single reference to anything from the Prime side. "The world will always be more delicious than it is useful." - Robert Capon

Re: Will (and should) Hunters appear in Other M?I think they need to include sylux in order to bring everything in the metroid universe together. If they don't pull something from prime into this game prime will forever be that "other metroid series".

Re: Will (and should) Hunters appear in Other M?
I'm okay with that. Prime is that other series, because its story progression is self-contained and it doesn't bring about any major revelations or changes to the grand scheme of the Metroid canon. More characters were introduced, yes, but the major fulcra upon which the classic series pivots its story (development of Samus, the shadier side of the GFed, and the status of the Metroid species) do not undergo any major revelations. That the Prime series has its own distinctive style of visuals, sound, music and gameplay also maintains this distinction. I think they'll do well to keep Prime's rickety storyline and uninspired characters out of the classic arc. -Jesse D

Re: Will (and should) Hunters appear in Other M?
The Prime series may not even be canon. Let's face it: it kind of ruins the flow of the the original trilogy when you try to sandwich another trilogy between the first two games in the story.

Re: Will (and should) Hunters appear in Other M?I don't think that Prime necessarily hurts the original trilogy. We don't have a hard official timeline of when exactly events took place. Going on a 'side journey' in between missions in the original trilogy doesn't throw it off. Though I'd personally like to keep the Prime series on it's own arc as it is now.
I don't think it would 'hurt' anything to have elements added or mention of some of the events that happened to be placed, but I would hope it wouldn't be anything significant to pull prime out of it's arc and into the over all view of the series. The way M:OM is panning out to be though, I don't think that will be an issue. I think they will mostly be focusing on events in MZM/SM if anything. Re: Will (and should) Hunters appear in Other M?
I hope you're just talking about Echoes and Corruption. I guess you are, considering the only real character in Prime 1 was Samus. And yeah, some of the original Prime 1 scans didn't make sense, but that was fixed in the PAL/Trilogy versions. But I still agree that the classic games probably shouldn't mention the Prime games. ![]()
