I liked the part of this discussion where we thought it was smarter for the people carrying and using the explosives through a battlefield to be wearing lighter armour. If they are going to be wearing any different type of armour from the rest of the troops, they should be wearing heavier armour to compensate for the added danger.

Luckily, the Federation seems to have learned from this mistake by the events of Other M, since Lyle, the explosives guy, wears the same armour as everyone else. Let's just ignore the fact that he was pulling those big-ass explosives out of thin air. The man must have had a Deadpool-level of invisible pouches.

THIS WAS EXACTLY WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT!!!! You would think that demolition troopers would NEED to have better armor then the rest of the troopers to avoid getting damaged by explosives and such at close enough range. I mean, yeah, add a little bit of difficulty to the game, but keep things realistic.

He is the explosives guy, confirmed by the briefing sequence, which is how the Deleter blew up the Exam Center. Lyle died in that room, James made off with the explosives.

Oh, and the the whole "light armor explosives thing" always confused me as well, but I let it go only because the Demolition Troopers had a way more badass design then normal Federation Troopers.

Yeah. I see that now, I just played (and beat again) Other: M in under 6 hours so. I see that he was. Also he died in the Training grounds not the Exam Center itself.

Miyamoto saying he wants to see something is code for "you won't see it for years".

But it also means you WILL see it eventually. Somebody in Nintendo is probably hired to keep track of what Miyamoto "would like to see" and make a big list out of it.

It's not a guarantee of anything. Miyamoto has also said that he wants to see a new F-Zero, and that series is still dead.

My theory is they wanted to impress this hot space hunter chick they've all been hearing about by proving how brave they are.

So they purposefully throw themselves into stupidly dangerous situations.

And get themselves killed half the time.
