Please God, let it happen. Say it with me now: Metroid... Prime... 4! Hey, at least we'd all know It'd be a top-notch game in every respect. Not that there was anything wrong with Other M (control-wise.) Both 3D Metroid gameplay styles are great, so it'll be interesting to see what happens next.

I would much rather see Metroid: Dread (Or even better, M:UD) than Metroid Prime: 4. The primes were interesting but they got steadily worse and I think they outwore their welcome.

To hell with all the haters. This game was amazing to me.
And the story was not cheesy, it fit perfectly in the Metroid timeline and pieced shit together easier than us finding out for ourselves.
Thank you Team Ninja, Nintendo and Sakamoto or however you spell it.
I agree that it's a fantastic game, and unfortunately the handful of bad reviews propagated quickly thanks to all the trolls, haters, and meme sheep. It's one of the things that really pisses me off about game reviews these days. The core of the story is definitely interesting, but the storyTELLING itself is pretty bad. Half of the dialogue is completely meaningless, and most of the VO work is monotone and uninspired. Except for Anthony Higgs, of course, who was the best-acted character in the game IMHO! And his lines we're too shabby, either EDIT: Removed unintended personal attack (got carried away with the verbiage )

I just finished "Metroid Other M" and overall I Think it's a great game. It Looks and sounds great. The controls are smooth and running around in 3D/3rd person shooting, dodging enemies, then pulling off overblasts and lethal strikes on said enemies is awsome. I do however have some minor gripes with 1st person mode specifically pixel-hunting. I felt it was unnecessary and tedious. Speaking of which, I hated being rooted to one spot. The Prime games pretty much perfected 1st person Metroid. Why couldn't we have that here too?
Now on to the plot. I'd have to say I didn't think it was that bad and it definitely feels like a standard Metroid story. The problem is the characters are wooden and unoriginal. The voice acting isn't great either, the sound was muffled in certain scenes. Everybody sounds monotone and the actress who portrays Samus sounds like she's hooked on tranquilizers.
Overall I give it an 8/10. It's not perfect, but definitely feels like metroid and I love all the little things they threw in the game for the fans.

Finally I can evade the "red door of death" glitch. Soon I will come with my rating of Other M.

Pokemon has outwore its welcome for a longer time. Nintendo's just milking it more by remaking the older GBC games because they know there's nothing new left. They've used every element for the titles now. (Unless "Pokemon Jewels" comes out...)

I would rather have both. But I want them to take their time and not make two of each every 2 years.

Cool. But weren't you the guy who decided to rent this game in preference to buying it? 3 weeks of renting must have cost you almost as much as buying

Yes I'm. The first time I have rented MoM for 5 days at game-rush it cost me $7 dlls, I got the red door glicth and I can't finish the game,In game-rush when it's monday there is a "2x1" promotion in videogames, last monday I have rented MoM & Punch Out for 5 days at $7 dlls. So.. No it don't cost me as much as buying. I have killed
Nightmare
, I think I'm very near to the end, when I have finished the game I will come with my review.

I give Other M an 8.5 (I voted 9). Here's my thoughts. Possible gameplay-related spoilers. No story spoilers. The Good: + I loved the story. Cutscenes looked great. Voice acting was solid. I also really liked how Samus got to be more emotional this time as well. The last hour or two of the game is just epic. + Controls are great. I was initially turned off by the idea of only playing with the Wii remote, but it works like a charm. + Gameplay is fantasic. The game is quite a bit more linear than other Metroid games, but it's fun. The boss fights are great, the action is solid, and it's just a treat to play The Bad: - The music. I felt as though it was almost non-existant at times. The orchestrated pieces (usually during cutscenes) are awesome, but when you're in one of the sectors playing the game, the music isn't memorable at all. - No alternate endings! One of the coolest features about other Metroid games is seeing how fast you can beat the game or how many items you can collect to get a better ending! They could have at least given us different pieces of artwork for completing the game in a set amount of time or item collection! - Not many unlockables. Pretty much the same story as my last complaint. You get some gallery artwork and cutscenes (which is all really cool), different music for the title screen, and hard mode if you get 100% for items, but that's it. I wish there would have been some sort of achievement system like in Metroid Prime 3 and Trilogy. So overall, Other M is a great game and a worthy addition to the series. Some more memorable music and some more replay value would have been nice, but what's here is great.

I have finally finished the game, here is my rating:
-GAMEPLAY: 8.8 -STORY: 8.0 -GRAPHICS: 8.8 -MUSIC: 7.6
OVERALL 8.3
I really enjoy the game, the story isn't that bad,the gameplay and graphics are the stronger side of this title. My only complains are the music and linearity of this game. Is a very good game but I hope somenthing better in the next entry, somenthing in the same level than the prime series.

-GAMEPLAY: 9.5 -STORY: 8 -GRAPHICS: 9 -MUSIC: 7 I know there are alot of people who trash the game, in the middle or loved it. I guess it depends on the person, who they think Samus really is like, and that will determine if they like this game. I saw this game at E3 last year, and was stoked. Of course, I grew up loving Metroid, ever since the day I got Super Metroid for my SNES. Played it for hours, and since I was young back then when it came out, I didn't beat it till I got older, and learned the puzzles. Of course, years later, the so called squeal was announced, leaving off from the fight against Mother Brain. After a few weeks since launch day, and took my time on the game, I loved it. As a hard core Nintendo fan, finally I can see them putting effort in story, and character development. In the intro of the game, Samus said that she is thinking about her past, and of course (like any normal person, even tough ones) they can go through rough times in life, remembering a past if you had a horrible one, and Samus had a horrible one. She isn't perfect, like some of us want her to be. I can see why, she froze when seeing Ridley, someone who she thought that was really dead, but isn't in her eyes. But of course, over comes that fear and beats the crap out of him. Something normal warriors might not even over come that fear. In the end, yes. Some phrases were cheesy, ect. But I did like it. I loved how they explained some past of Samus, ( I loved how her young version looked liked! ) and for a really first Nintendo game to go all out with story, its not to shabby. Hopefully they can do that with other characters, and learn from some of the troubles in Other M, to make the next games even better. Over all, I give this game between 8.5 and 9
