Metroid Other M Jokes, Comics, Funny Videos etc.

Well thats silly. Samus can be various creature's super attacks and not die (given that you're on hard mode) and she can be at the centre of a power bomb blast with no damage at all.... but she's completely wiped out by one shot from a wimpy GFed freeze gun? I thought at least Adam had some secret special weapon that he authorised just to shoot Samus with.

I kinda get this feeling that they're going to make a Metroid game between Other M and Fusion that'll focus on Samus getting a new and improved Freeze Gun to freeze unfreezable Metroids, because her Ice Beam seems pretty weak in Other M.

Actually it doesn't. In fact, the sound effect and shot effect don't match the Freeze Gun. It was definetly an electrical impulse. It uses the Wave Beam sound effect, so I'd say it was some EMP gun. Plus, Blue usually means electricity. Also, usually when samus gets hit with ice-beam like weapons she freezes over and there was no freeze effect, just the suit deactivating. Another piece of evidence against him using the Freeze Gun is the length of time it took him to shoot the infant. It's almost exactly the same amount of time to switch weapons. Besides, Adam has like 3 guns. It's entirely plausible one is of Electrical intereferance.

Regardless, like Mew said, Samus can take a ton of shit, yet be taken down by a shot to the back. Doesn't make sense. Unless Adam has some magic Chozo Power Armor Shutty-Downy Gun, I don't think it'd work.

Well, whatever it is that Adam shot Samus with to deactivate her suit, it must have been derived from whatever was in Ridley's hands that could deactivate her suit.

Adam shot her with a pure, concentrated blast of willpower.

I think it would have been some awesome gameplay to go into Sector 0, and come up with a new strategy of killing unfreezable metroids. They could have even had a boss that can drop an upgrade that makes this possible. Then they completely revolutionize the standard metroid/tourian level.

Also I always thought it was the big fancy looking gun on the floor next to him that he used.

Except that

A) Samus explicitly trusts Adam
B) She was under his command once and likely had to inform him of any weaknesses the suit might have for combat purposes
C) Its tech. We've seen the suit f-up before. Like EVERY GAME SINCE FUSION AND PRIME. We've all gotten the BSOD from the Rezbits before.
D) Samus lets people *cough*Glasses-Guy*cough* she doesn't know to touch and modify her suit. She's a bit of an idiot.
E) MAGICAL PLOT DEVICE!

Also, Mewtwo is right. It was the big hunk of gun. because he never used it prior to that.

Looks like an M203 Under-Barrel Grenade Launcher, but I guess it wouldn't be hard to say "It shoots tazer shots" or something, but they never elaborated on that.
