Adam should be a boss battle in a subsequent metroid game. That would be fun. After all, he practically is one to begin with.

Oh no... Not another evil Adam conspiracist.

I hope he stays dead and AI Adam proves to be a true hero.

Considering how un-helpful he was in any situation, him being a boss to Samus isn't too far off. Hell, most bosses were more helpful the Adam. Atleast they dropped an item after you beat them. Adam purposely withheld items from Samus for no good reason.

I think he was more referring to how troublesome Adam actually was to Samus in the story.

I'm not saying that he's definitely evil, but the Adam from fusion and the Adam from Other m have COMPLETELY different personalities, and the only logical thing at this point to assume is that Adam didn't actually die. Maybe he's not evil, but his death sequence opened more questions than it answered. If you can convince me that the other m Adam is the hero and genius that he is portrayed as in fusion, I'm open to suggestion.

....You demand constructive criticism and then use two terms (trainwreck and douche) whose usage is hyperbolic and nonconstructive? I think I can rest my case with ease here.

But I still want to know why his idea is bad.

Well, you kind of were. I offered an alternative solution and without explaining why its a bad idea you simply said "No, its a bad idea" and moved on. You weren't polite about it either. Just bluntly "your idea sucks". Well why does it suck?

And yes, saying it the way you set it was pretty douchey. By me using those words, it doesn't explain at all why my idea is bad. They're unrelated.

How would you feel if Adam were quietly retconned out of existence?

Like if nobody ever referred to him in Metroid 5, and :ai: was just an AI that decided to turn helpful.

He doesn't really add anything to the series. At best he would be the generic positive reinforcement character.

I wouldn't like it. In Fusion, I wanted to find out who Adam was. I was looking forward to seeing him become an ally/useful tool in Metroid 5.

We wouldn't be in this situation where you're asking the question if Other M hadn't colossally fucked up Adam's "Hero Time". They just need to re-do his story.

If Other M need to be rewritten, I want to see Adam blasting stuff with a Rocket Launcher.
That way I at least would care about him. That and behaving like a captain. And showing some affection towards Samus. Because what he does in Other M isn't what a general is supposed to do. He's not on the terraint. Since he's on the terraint, he should be a captain.

Captain Adam Malkovich. Now that sounds good. :adam:

Or, you know, maybe seeing him do stuff besides sit behind a computer and "order others to die".

Personally I love Adam. He is the embodiment of the perfect hero. His actions made me cry throughout Other M. He was everything I imagined him to be. The true definition of valor. It's him and his actions in Other M that is one of those gaming moments that's a powerful reminder for me.

All gave some, some gave all

Some pulled through for the red-white-and-blue, some had to fall

And if you ever think of :adam:, think of all your liberty and recall

Some gave all.

I'm sorry, I respect people's opinions, but his actions made you cry?

He sat behind a computer ordering people to their deaths.

He was a dick to Samus. Hell, he shot her in the back.

He's not the embodiment of heroism. Not even close. He was an emotionless drone.
