I think adam was a nice guy, up until the point when he shot samus. even if there was a reason why which was
to stop samus from destroying the metroids and exploring sector zero
, i still think he was a bit wierd when that happened, because i saw him as a friendly figure in the game.

I couldn't even see Adam as friendly throughout the entire game.

The developers wanted to portray him as a cold, serious Commander but he just turned out to be an ass in the end.

His sacrifice was completely stupid, and broke all sorts of logic no matter how you view it, and is really one of the lowpoints in the game's story (which is saying alot) but if that's what it takes to get rid of him then by all means, it was probably the best scene in the game for that reason alone.

Screw him. It's been a long time since I've seen a character so unlikeable. Maybe if Samus didn't glorify him every two seconds it would have been much better.

Okay, Ill join this because I saw something that caught my eye...

Why didnt Adam shoot the Metroid first? It was like, right beside her... He had no reason to shoot her!

The SA-X had a better sacrifice scene than Adam.

I still have no clue what the SA-X was trying to achieve!

Neither do I, but since it shot the Metroid instead of Samus it's a more likeable character than Adam.

Laughed pretty hard at this revelation. Even the main villain didn't shoot Samus in such a situation!

Was Adam a good character or a bad character?

Postby DarkSammy313 » 07.25.12 6:39am

Based on YOUR opinion did you think Adam was a good character or a bad character? I think he was a good character. Although he can sometimes be a douche,he acted like a father to Samus which helped her become the sexy strong bounty hunter we know today. :adam:

I personally disliked him. He could've been a much kinder father figure, and his "noble sacrifice" was awful.

You want to see a noble sacrifice? In Dead Space 2, the scene where Issac ejects Ellie in an escape pod to save her is incredible.

Yeah he was a douche but it made the story have some value. Sure his sacrifice was bad but if he was not there Samus would have died. Then again that is your opinion and I do not mind that you don't like him.

I'm not trying to start an argument but how does he being a douche equal story value?

Not once do we see why he's such a good father figure. In fact the only thing that made him seem like a father figure is that my dad was a domineering control freak asshole too.

Anyways, I despised him. No, loathe would be the more appropriate word. I can't find one good reason why I should like him based on his actions in the game. No, not what the game tells us about him, but what he actually does in the game.

Adam Malkovich is the worst thing to happen to Metroid since the N64.
