Quadraxis. Seriously, Quadraxis was amazing. Seeing as the main draw of the Metroid Prime games was, for me, the ability to scan every enemy you fought and get a detailed lore entry, a boss that had 5 separate logbook entries was amazing. Plus, you know, he was a really cool looking giant robot. I like Space Pirates in general, but my favorite pirates are the one from Metroid Prime 3. The way that they're all the same creature, with varying levels of armor, helps give them a sense of, I don't know, cohesiveness? It's nice to see a single species with differing ranks, instead of a bunch of completely different ones for different jobs. As for basic enemies, I'd say I like the robotic enemies from Metroid II and Elysia. The idea that there's all the Chozo automatons that have been abandoned for centuries, trying to fulfill their last orders or waiting in vain for new ones is very appealing to me. Of them, I'd say the TPO's and the Steamlords are the best. Oh, and Metroid I Geemers.
Grenchlers are better than Sheegoths, I'm not afraid to say it!
Oh yes. Quadraxis. Everybody loves that Quad who has suffered from an unfortunate bout of gigantism. My favourite parts of that battle were kneecapping him, boosting onto his head and setting him on fire, and getting the Annihilator beam afterwards. Good times. And the Sunburst actually became useful in this battle!

I loved Quadraxis also. The multi-level fight, going from fighting the entire 'bot, to boosting onto its head from one of its own severed legs was incredible. Especially back in the middle of last gen. The game looked amazing, and had these advanced boss fights that even in this gen we still aren't really getting.

I agree. I've been playing it for a while now, and I still can't see much graphical difference between Echoes and Corruption. Mind-blowing really. Anyway, Mother Brain from Super Metroid. Most. Epic. Music. Ever!

Even looking back at Prime, graphically, it still holds up today.
A decade later.
And yes, that song is great. Very intimidating.

Thardus from Prime. Annoying but fun, I found a spot in the arena where
his ice slam can't hit you, and his rolling attack can't hit you
It was aggravating when
one of his parts explodes later in the fight because they overload the thermal WHILE the combat is blinded by light
worth the challenge.

Many people think Thardus is annoying but I actually quite like him. Anyway, there's really no nead to highlight half your comment. If people have hardly played Metroid before and they casually stroll onto this topic, they're clearly idiots and should try playing the games first... Just so you know

Even more so, the game has been out for over 10 years. We don't need spoiler tags. If they haven't played by now, they probably won't.

Anyway... Ridley. 'Cause he's just such a badass, and the fight with him in Super Metroid is probably the best fight in the entire game, on par with Mother Brain.

I think every fight against Ridley is highly memorable except the second fight against him in Corruption. The opening Lord of the Rings style shaft battle with him outshines the fight with him on the Pirate Homeworld 900%. So every time I think of fighting Ridley in Corruption, it's of Samus and Ridley tumbling down some endless shaft, exchanging blows.

Every time I think of Ridley this springs to my mind. It's the Prime Meta Ridley death sequence with some added touches. (Ridley's chest plate is on fire, Chozo statues' eyes glow red) Mortal Kombat Announcer:(VERY deep voice) FINISH HIM! (Lasers shoot out from Chozo statues and into Ridley's chest, he falls off Artifact Temple and explodes) Mortal Kombat Announcer: (Deep voice again) FATALITY!!

Hahaha.
That part is also highly memorable. I always thought it would be great to go down into the Impact Crater, and find Ridley down there, barely clinging to life. He goes to attack, when Metroid Prime drops from the ceiling and impales him, finishing him off.
Be one hell of a way to introduce Prime.
