Ok, so since they're charging their usual astoundingly high price of $100+, that means I can be uber-picky about it right?
The body: pretty much perfect. They did an excellent job creating her suit. It's pretty fucking immaculate.
The pose: eh, it's alright. I remember seeing a prototype on F4F's site before with the same pose, so I'm used to it. It's not really flattering or action-oriented, though... and there's no doubt they could have pulled out some Zero Mission concept art to base a cool pose on... ah well.
The face:
I seriously don't understand what's wrong with F4F. First Link, now this. Ok, so she's not THAT fugly, but she ain't pretty. They went for an extremely caucasian look, guessing because they don't want to anime-ize her like they did in that other Japanese PVC figure. Ok, the face I can live with, but it's her hair that bothers me. It's crap. It's so obviously a 2nd piece that they just glued on seperately. It doesn't even look like they tried to make them meld together. And the paint job... UGH. PLAIN YELLOW??? What the hell!? Someone at F4F needs to learn some airbrushing techniques and fast.
Again, not worth $109, but I guess to die-hard Metroid fans, it's already bought.

Good point about the eyebrows, though for the record, there's a different gene that controls them (which is why a man can have gray hair but a dark beard). But yeah, they should be the same.
Personally I didn't think the figure looked too bad, though I agree they should have done a bit more. The Japanese Zero Suit was definitely sleek, sexy, and had nice hair. If they wanted to go the whole route, they could have used the Melee helmetless trophy as a model for the face - THAT was fantastic.
There is actually a special edition version limited to 250 pieces that has a stand light. That would be the one I'd purchase, though I don't have any kind of budget for it and I'm not THAT eager for another F4F.

I agree on that helmetless trophy. Her face looks much more mature and just way better than ZSS's "generic chick face." But... eh she did have 80's hair...

Meh... Preferred the suited one. She looks too much like a doll.
By the way, I think I'm gonna create a ZSS Mii. That last screenshot seem good to be Miilized(?).

What;s with that wierd lock of hair coming out of Samus' head?
It looks like a strand of spaghetti, or a leech.
And if we're talking abut the Power Suit and Bounty Hunting in general, wouldn't it be easier if Samus just kept her hair short?

Do you really think that I didn't expect anyone to have done it before?
By the way, there's a Gravity Suit one coming, but it's just like the Varia but purple.

Well, Metroid is an 80s game. Emperor Ing wrote:And if we're talking abut the Power Suit and Bounty Hunting in general, wouldn't it be easier if Samus just kept her hair short?
Possibly, but G.I. Jane is not high on my list of things I want to see Samus impersonate.

Ah, my long search for a new signature has come to an end! Thanks, Inf and AMG! But I'll not use it just now.

I suppose it makes sense with Zero Mission Samus having a younger face than her appearance in Super Metroid. The Prime Series and Metroid II were all set before SM right?
Anyway Play-Asia has the F4F Zero Suit Samus for 10 dollars off the RRP, I suppose you can get an additional 10 dollars off if you can hunt down one of those 10 dollars off vouchers.
89 dollars doesn't sound too bad. Its a pity that the light-up statue is a F4F exclusive.
