RIDELY
or
KRAID????
QUEEN METROID
or
METROID PRIME????
I personally think that Kraid could surely beat up Ridley any day and that Queen Metroid could obliviate Metroid Prime......
You see, Ridley may be cool, but in reality, he is pretty easy to beat in every game. Well, in the 2D games at least. But if Kraid was in the first-person games too, I'd bet that Kraid would have to be one of the hardest bosses ever! Ridley, you just hit him, whilest Kraid you actually have to have some sort (if not very simplistic) of a strategy....
Now Metroid Prime may be one bad-ass, but all he can really do is become invisible, have a stupid shell, roll up in a ball (that's new to us), and some various other things.
Anyways, I want to know what other hardcore Metroid fans have to say about this issue. Just write up and this could be a fun discussion.....

Let's agree with one thing: they're all crap compared to Samus.

Lesse...
Ridley.. you can hit him everywhere in most games, but mostly the mouth.
Kraids eyes and mouth are vulnerable.
You can hit the Metroid queen everywhere, but it deals less damage, she's vulnerable in the mouth and stomach.
Metroid Prime is Vulnerable in the face, but it has the plate it can put down over it to protect it and is only vulnerable to a specific weapon at a time.
Hmmm...
Well.. Ridley has Fireballs, a feirce as hell tail, and the ability to fly. If we talk meta Ridley.. he also has missiles and arial bombs and a charge attack.
Kraid is fucking huge, could probobly step on anything and crush it. Spikes, and more spikes. and sharp ass claws.
Metroid queen is also huge, but not that huge. She has that feirce charge and spiked balls which really hurt.
Metroid Prime is about as large as the Metroid Queen, if slightly smaller.
Prime has the charging thing, missiles, acid missiles, mouth beam weapons. the ability to freeze stuff and set it on fire. Those projectile bomb things and it's own deadly claws.
Wow, that's tough, I honestly like them all. But after I seen all the shit Metroid Prime put up with and still lived when none of the others did. (besides Ridley, because he's one tough boss)
I'd have to say Metroid Prime, cause it "died" like.. a crapload of times and still came back.
But yes, they all suck compaired to Samus..
But what if the 4 of em teamed up?! Samus would get owned.

Ridley is only tough because of the high healing technology the Space Pirates have.
And I hope someday we do a Samus vs. Ridley & Kraid fight. With Bros. Moves.
Maybe they could do a big boss rush, with Mecha Ridley, the Queen Metroid, Mother Bran and Dino Brain, Omega Metroid and a 3-way fight between Samus, SA-X and Dark Samus.

Well, they've all fought Samus. Who was the hardest for her (you?) to beat?

Depends on how much equipment you have. Ridley can be very tough in Super Metroid if you only have a handful of Super Missiles and no charged Plasma. Try it on a low % run and see how hard it gets.
Personally, I say it's a toss-up between Ridley and the Metroid Queen. Both are fast and huge. If the Queen has other Metroids helping her out, it's a done deal, but one-on-one it's pretty close. I'd say Ridley wins all these battles due to popular vote rather than actual events
Remember that just because a creature seems to have only one weak point in a game doesn't mean that something bigger and badder than you can hurt it in some other way. It's called game design

I would go with Ridley, he could just hover in front of Kraid's head, and and rapid-spit fireballs. Now, if it were the NES Kraid, it might be a different story - NES Kraid was slightly more agile, and more importantly, his spikes actually offer him some protection. Of course, if it was NES Ridley against NES Kraid, I would say Ridley, as "as get up close and rapid-fire Missiles" won't work for Kraid - he is too fat, and the fireballs would singe his rear.
CONGRATULATIONS, SAMUS!!! You've just doomed the entire galaxy to the X parasite, what do you have to say for yourself now?

You know what would be cool? A hack of the Metroid and Super Metroid ROMs so that you could control Ridley versus Kraid, or vice-versa, with the normal in-game damage accounting and so forth. Granted, on the SNES having Ridley and Kraid onscreen together might easily blow out the console's fill rate.

Kraid and Dino Brain(don't use charge brain!). A pre-historic fight!(somehow)
Of course, the battle could be so intense that it would blow the SNES up.
