Umm this is really just a quote.

From Pure Pwnage, Dave comes walking downt he street carrying a squid and Jeremy says, "Whats with the Metroid."

If you know Pure Pwnage they are all about video games and such.

I think there was another quote referring to levels in Metroid in one episode of MST3K, can't remember which episode though.

james kennon wrote:hmmmm...

lvl 1 = crateria
lvl 2 = brinstar
lvl 3 = kraid
lvl 4 = wrecked ship
lvl 5 = maridia
lvl 6 = norfair
lvl 7 = ridley
lvl 8 = tourian
lvl 9 = ???

If you had to try to assign levels to the areas in Metroid, what about Ceres as level 1, making Tourian level 9?

hmmm yes you do have a good point, but it could also be classed as lvl 0.

I know they got the other reference/spot from House but here is a quote from House to a Patient. "Don't let the Space Pirates kill you."

Supernatural S1E2: the Victims of the Week are out camping, playing a local Wifi game of MP:H in their tent at night just before they get eaten by the Creature of the Week. (Gratifyingly, the guy who quits the match to avoid losing is the first one to get eaten.)

The name of the game is never mentioned, but you get to hear the music and see the screens pretty clearly. They appear to have some weird case design for the DSes though.

I was watching Homestar Runner, and guess what.
In the SBEmail "japanese cartoon" you must wait until the end, then you click in the words japanese cartoon (the ones at the very top, as that sentence is repeated) and a running Stinkoman will appear. After that, click on the same sentence you clicked before, but this time you will see Homestar watching Stinkoman on T.V.. Click on the video tape labeled as "NES endings" bellow the T.V. A small screen will appear above Homestar, keep clicking on the picture and ya will see... SAMUS! I TOUGHT HE WAS A MAN!

Tourain? Nofrair? if I would guess it would probably be Tourain......

Metroids, here? More Likely than you think.

This was posted up on gamefaqs, pretty uncanny isn't it? We're all doomed. I hope you brought your ice beams and missiles.

Awesome.

But do they evolve?
This specimen - a small juvenile - has been added to the Invertebrate Zoology collection at the California Academy of Sciences, where it will be further studied.

Or stolen by Ridley amirite? :awesome:

When I become a millionaire (joke, haha). I will import one of those big reds for my evil lair. As well as the octopuss from Octopussy.

But anyways that is pretty cool. I haven't seen the Big Red before.

they dont know how it reproduces? have they tried gamma radiation?

tbh, if it wernt for the 7/8 arms or whatever, id seriously consider starting a petition for its non latin name to be "metroid"/(w/ jellyfish on end)

They better try it on the juvenile soon, because it won't be long until a turtle (see Plas's second post) steals it and brings it to the secret underwater lair of the Crab Pirates who will feed it until it grows enormous and becomes the ultimate killing machine.

It will then be up to an unbalanced blonde deep-sea diver in a suit made by seahorses to infiltrate the Crab Pirates' headquarters and destroy Mother Brain Coral, though tragically along the way the infant will lose its gelatinous little life.
