I always thought that the spartans from halo slightly ripped the design from metroid. Minus Arm cannon. The helmet, the armor design. Not a fan of halo....

Thats what i thought too! I'm not a big fan of halo because some of the middle school kids brag about it too much, and some halo fans bashing metroid fans on youtube... -_-;
Otherwise I don't mind Halo

Yeah. Seriously.

We might as well all start ripping on the suits from StarCraft II, Mega Man's armor, the Brotherhood of Steel Knight armor from Fallout 3, hell, anything that wears a big hulking suit and fires futuristic weapons that was created after 1986 is a direct rip off of Metroid.

You said it yourself guys, you haven't played the games, don't knock em til you try em and don't cry foul either, because the only thing Metroid and Halo have in common are suits, blowing shit up, and space.

Research/play, next time?

If you want to get really technical than Samus is actually ripping off the Space Marines from Warhammer 40,000. Set the difinitive standard for power armor. Also among the most rediculous and impractical power armor designs I've yet seen, but when weilding the power of the God Emperor, practicality be damned!. That, or...

Let's go even FURTHER back, haha.

In the novel Starship Troopers (not the campy 1990s movie) the titular troopers wore "powered armor". Starship Troopers was published in December of 1959.

Tony Stark built himself the Mark I power armor in Vietnam back when Tales of Suspense #39 was published in March 1963.

So, let's not kid anyone, power armor is not very original. It is in its delivery that makes it unique.

Samus is one of the few females that marches around in power armor, but hers was designed by an alien race and has one appendage replaced with a cannon.

The UNSC Spartans wear armor that has regenerating shields. It compliments their own biological modifications, increasing their strength, speed, and stamina. Each Spartan can customize their own armor with different parts, colors, markings, etc.

Honestly, Metroid and Halo are too different to have this keep happening. Can't people just enjoy their own franchises and leave others alone?

Haloid? Aye. Does that qualify as me personally handing the Master Chief his own ass? Nay.

Unless you mean something else, in which case I say: Maybe? I've seen lots of mashup videos of Samus and MC. What I've yet to do is actually play it.

No, nothing where you can actually play it, but yes, I was referring to Haloid.

I would enjoy playing it as well but I know Samus would kick Chief's ass just by how much more firepower and defensive tech she has.

I'm a little biased, but I love both franchises, so...

I don't think Master Chief could withstand a Power Bomb.

I'm popping buy after my absence. So, I'm surprised no one's mentioned the cameo in Serious Sam 2. it's near the end of this video when the villager asks Sam if he is "Samus." Sam then replies "I guess..." It's around 4:15

Just played through Call of Duty: Black Ops again, and at one point, a gas mask is worn. The way the visor is shaped looks alot like samus' in the prime series.
okay, so you put the lime in the coconut...now what?

This would have gone better in our "missing cameos" thread but thanks all the same! We'll definitely be adding it to our page soon. I've never wanted to play a Serious Sam game in my life so it's no surprise it took us this long to find it. :P
