Jesse D reports that some Gamestops/EB Games are now handing out the t-shirts, but that most shouldn't have the posters in yet. You may want to call the store you reserved at to make sure you get your shirt.
EDIT: I just picked up my poster and t-shirt. Pics will be coming eventually. The poster is double-sided (the back is the MPT box art).
EDIT2: I hear some of these shirts come factory sealed. Some of them (like mine) aren't.

I just called my GS and they said they weren't allowed to give those out till release date. I hate gamestop, they don't run the same, there computers aren't connected, and it's such a hassle. They said they have the shirts, but not the posters yet. And the way it goes with my luck, I probably won't get either because they only get a 'limited' stock which to me is just utter BS. The posters will probably never come in and i'll have to buy the stupid crap off ebay. At least that's the way my past experiences have been

Yeah, Gamestop policies aren't standardized throughout the system. They do preorders based on first come, first serve for game pickup rather than the order in which people reserved their games. If you order online, you're usually guaranteed the bonuses, but they will charge you tax (really? there's no friggin brick and mortar store!!). The taxes was really what made me hate them because I never felt like I could trust the stores to get the swag. It really just comes down to luck.

i dunno... there's quite a few gamestops around where i live (i could easily go to 4 different stores all within a 5 mile radius). I'm going to go to each one and see if they have any extra posters or tshirts available. I really am not interested in purchasing Trilogy. If I see it for $20 years down the road, I'll consider it. Just not interested in buying it again. (But interested in the swag! )

I think that's probably the best option for me too. Just wait a few years until it gets cheaper, everywhere I've checked the price for it is overwhelming considering the only prime I don't have is echoes. Might as well just buy that for a fiver. It's unlikely I'll have any success but I'll see if I can do anything about this merch problem... Also as far as I know I have NO gamestops nearby and ordering online is costly.

do you still get bonus items after the preorder time? Or will the items no longer be available with it after about a month? That could tip the decision of waiting or not to get it.

EBGames has removed any mention of a poster from their website. If this is going the way I think it's headed, I'm going to be extremely pissed off.

Nintendo will pay. Even if it is not directly there fault, THEY WILL PAY!

No, it's Gamestop/EB who's the problem, but they just chock it up to 'while supplies last'. Or whoever the manufacturer of the posters was. Though the number was probably determined by the number of preorders. This is why the preorder system is inherently flawed: it is based on supply and demand as determined weeks before the game is out.

you know, now I'm seriously regretting not wanting it in the preorder time. But there is this nintendo newsletter thing about it I got. All it talks about though is getting the booklet and downloading the original Metroid for free.

What? I never heard anything of the likes! And, if you subscribe to the Nintendo newsletter, they sent a MPT e-mail at the end of July with a very big "Visit the site now to learn about an exclusive pre-order bonus!"

oooooooooooooh. Must have skipped that part. And I'm not sure whether you download it or whether it comes with the trilogy, but you do get it for free if 'you have previously registered a Metroid product' but I think there was something about having a limited number of people that would get it.
