Coming Back to Metroid

Postby gruesomegamer » 11.06.11 3:47pm

Hi there!
It's been a while since i've talked on the forums, and i enjoy being back. I've recently ended a break from metroid. It's not that i stopped liking the series or got stuck, i actually just started playing some other games and left it on my game shelf. Now that it's been over 6 months since i've seriously played a metroid game, I started playing prime 2 again. I forgot how fun that game (and all other metroid games) can be. I love fighting the bosses, collecting power-ups, and just looking for those elusive logbook and creature scans.
If any of you have taken a break from metroid, what do you love coming home to?
You have to admit that we're all a little crazy. Sometimes it's just more noticable in others.

I had a similar experience just recently. It was so moving I was compelled to write a review of Metroid Prime.

What often happens is, well, there are a lot of games out there. There are no new Metroid games out or coming out soon. But I always end up comparing a game to Metroid. I start talking to my friends and ranting or complaining that this game or that game didn't do it as well as Metroid, or one of my friends ends up bringing up Other M to get under my skin, and I usually get that moment where I go "I need a good Metroid fix". I plug in Metroid Prime or Prime Trilogy or Super Metroid or, lately, just playing vintage NES Metroid on my 3DS. That tends to keep me sane for another few weeks.
