What do you want the next Metroid to look like?

I think Dread is or was a codename for a Metroid game during development. Dread is not in itself an art style or plot or-


Getting back to the topic of should the next game have metroids in it? I'd like to see them make a triumphant return, something that really shows them off as near unbeatable beings. Forget genetic alteration or phazon corruption, I want them to have unexplainable power, even if it contradicts previous Metroids. I want them to be able to move through walls, and not just for show, to really follow you through sections of the world. I want Alphas and Gammas, a Queen or two, maybe even some higher forms that have them growing into space ship sized creatures covered in limbs and tentacles and teeth.

Oh and have a few immune to ice, but don't make a big cut scene deal out of it, just let the player figure out another way to defeat them (by providing lava near by to fire them into or whatever).

I'd like a display of intellect on their part, something subtle that you could imagine them being capable of, like sucking the energy out of a generator to take out the lights, or overloading a door with energy so that it locks.

I'd also like to see Metroids attack other alien life while you play, rather than just the after effects.

Make one metroid scary. At least upon first contact.

Anyways, yeah I agree a stylized Metroid would be cool as hell. The concept art for Other M actually has some personality and style, which is more than you can say for the in-game graphics

Yeah, I honestly wouldn't mind having a cartoony artstyle in the next Metroid. Especially if it were to return to the dark, foreboding atmosphere/gameplay. It would be that kind of odd contrast that I so very much love.
