Most Dissapointing Boss Battles

Postby LuigiandMetroidfan20 » 02.12.12 11:04am

Since my previous topic on general discussion boards was utter crap, I decided to try to make an actually good topic.

Anyways, as the topic title reads, what were the most dissapointing boss battles for you in the series.

And please, do NOT mention MB from M:OM as a boss battle, as it was basically a pixl hunt. It was not even close to being a boss battle.

Annnnyyyyyyyyyywwwwwwwaaaaaaayyyyyysssssss, have fun! :phazon: :s-grav: :s-logo:

My personal most dissapointing boss battle is the Omega Metroid battle in Metroid Fusion. Aside from tieing up the story and a ridiculously high attack power, the Omega Metroid was easy as pie. It only had one (semi-) spammable attack and really was no challenge at all. In fact, if I remember correctly, the Omega Metroids in Metroid II were much more difficult, had more attacks, and were overall more fun to fight.
Opinions are opinions, not facts. Though, everyone is entitled to their opinion, of course. Even Metroids and Ridley, the unkillable beast.
Viva Les Alpha et Omega Metroids.
Kraid should be brought back, he needs some good 'ol Metroid love.

Think I'd have to say either the SA-X or the Spiderball Guardian. The SA-X battle was fun, but honestly I expected a lot more, seeing how it can copy almost all your abilities, yet only copies two during the fight. The monster form was also way too easy. As for the Spiderball Guardian, I was pretty excited to fight it after hearing tons of people calling it unbelievably hard. However, I was able to beat it without much effort. Now I WAS playing the Trilogy version, however, I didn't use the ball jump ability once thought the entire fight, and it was still pretty easy.

At least from the perspective of the Space Pirates.

Its not metroid but my personal disappointing boss battle was the final boss Tom Zelda SS. Kinda ruined the game for me. Was really disappointed how bloody easy he was.

Ghirahim was more of a challenge.

Vgm out...

SA-X was a pretty easy fight; I suppose given its AI in the game, I should have expected as much. I know it's tough to program some crazy fighting AI in a platformer, and on the GBA, but the potential for the confrontation with SA-X was far underwhelmed by the actual fight. In regards to fighting a Samus clone, the Dark Samus battles were far more rewarding.

AU313 was also a pretty lame way to end the Prime series - the music wasn't very final-bossish (didn't get you in the mood to kick ass), and the whole fight I just kept on expecting something eye-popping to happen. Something really cool. But it was just a brain on a stick.

Super Metroid: Mother Brain. Pathetically easy, mainly.

Zero Mission: Mecha-Ridley. Again, too easy to like.

Metroid Fusion: Black Widow. Did the developers even seriously try to develop a even somewhat difficult boss? The patterns are so simple to exploit that its just pathetic. Also SA-X and Omega Metroid. Is it a Metroid tradition to have underwhelming Decisive Battles?

Metroid Prime 2: I remember the Emperor Ing (Second Form) being pretty underwhelming.

Metroid Prime 3: Ghor. He's just...Inefficient. His Patterns are too simple. I remember Omega Ridley being a bit to simple as well.

My most disappointing boss battle is the General Scales fight in Starfox Adventures.

The SA-X
As mentioned before by others, the programmers squandered the opportunity to pit Samus against a truly tough adversary by making this creature dumber than a box of rocks. Its scripted appearences are easy to escape (save for the one in Sector 2, but only because of the obstacles on the escape route), and the actual fight is pathetic due to its predictability. I think ADAM overexaggerated the SA-X's intelligence, because in-game, it's anything but.
:metroid: = Ultimate Warrior
8) = Ultimate Warrior
Therefore, 8) = :metroid:

Now you know why they call it Metroid.
