IE Edit: Since the two threads are very similar, let's make this the official thread for posting anything NON-GAME RELATED that reminds you of Metroid; be it an actual direct reference to the games, or an indirect one that you found amusing. Carry on!


Anyone out there have a favorite picture or other representation out there of something which isn't Metroid-related, but which manages to capture the way you imagine something in the Metroid universe, even if it doesn't agree with the official art?

For example, the dying bird-man in this picture is very much the way I imagine Chozo to look (except perhaps Chozo would have more feathers): http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/90442395/

This thread's purpose is to reflect where you have seen a Metroid game or reference in real life, such as on TV, in a movie, newspaper article, ect ect. This does not include gaming websites, fan videos, 'official' commercials, official advertisements or conversations with friends. When you see mine below you will have a better understanding of what I mean.

House MD: Season 1 Episode 3 Occam's Razor:

In this episode, we find House playing his GBA and none other then Metroid Zero Mission. Only problem is, the sound coming from the device is from Space Invaders and he talks about the game being about space monkeys and how he has reached level 4, obvious factual mistake on this one.

Good idea for a thread, Mental! I don't have anything to contribute at the moment, but I would like to mention a sighting of an old sci fi paperback novel (late '90s) that had a female warrior and a bird warrior on the cover that definitely looked Metroid-esque. If anything particularly unusual pops up, who knows...it might make its way into the features section

I didn't think they looked like space pirates (aside from the claws). However, they do look like the type of creature that might appear in Metroid.
