I never played Hunters, and I know nothing about the character. I largely know the name from the user here who uses it as their alias.

Adam was never mentioned prior to Fusion, but they managed to make his character understood and whatnot without that much trouble. (I know he's not the main villain, but he has become a rather central character.)

Thank you. Took the words right out of my mouth.

Why does Sylux need to be referenced in Other M or Fusion? They introduce new characters and concepts in every game. Also, if he's from Hunters, which chronologically is the 3rd game, and, if you believe the theory that it was his ship at the end of Corruption (which they still haven't done anything about), they could make it a point that he's been acting in the background for a long time.

Sylux would work as a character because he/she/it hates the Galactic Federation. We know that at least a portion of the Federation is corrupt. Using him as not only an antagonist but as a gateway to seeing the other corruption and wrong doing that this group is capable of works very well from a narrative stand point. It also makes the narrative less black and white, and more morally grey: Who is the real villain? Is there a villain? Everyone I'm fighting against or at odds against thinks they're doing the right thing.

That's what I want to see. That's why I think it would work.

And I can only hope that if Retro is making another Metroid as the rumor seems to be suggesting, that they finally bring closure to who was in the mystery ship at the end of Corruption.

@HYRUL3 & Tianna

After re-thinking about it yeah you guys are right. Even though I somewhat liked your idea, HYRUL3, my main worry was that they were just going to throw him in there with little explanation, rendering his appearance a bit strange, but the chances of that happening is actually pretty small.

Speaking of Sylux...

This falls eerily similar to my view of Sylux, but I'll add some of my other viewpoints of Sylux:

I personally believe he/she should be maintained as Samus' main Rival. After all, there is little to no Humanoid enemies that can even stand up to Samus. The SA-X and Dark Samus were more just "Monsters" then anything (even though Dark Samus was badass). Not only that, but they were essentially Samus clones, which got kind of boring. I also think the Sylux and Samus should have similar ideals, but how they conduct those ideals is what drives them against each other. So if they can actually make a narrative with Sylux more morally grey like HYRUL3 said then I'll be VERY happy, since I always thought that's how Sylux should be.

Precisely. A Martin Luther King Jr and Malcolm X dynamic. Two sides of the same coin, both wanting the same things... but one wanted them peacefully and another was open to more aggressive means of persuasion.

Or Charles Xavier and Magneto, for all you fellow comic fans.

Regardless, I agree with everything you've said Zynux.

Thanks. I love how easy it is in this community for one person to have a good idea, another person sees it and contributes, making it a GREAT idea, etc etc.

I love that X-Men reference. Pretty soon you catch on that X-Men's mutant rights issue is just cool satire of the civil rights movement and it's two opposing frenemies are idealized, scifi versions of MLK and Malcolm X.

But back on topic...

People keep saying there's no way Team Ninja would come back but Nintendo and Temco still seem to be all buddy-buddy. You've got that Pokemon crossover game, and there are Samus cameos in DOA and Dynasty Warriors.

I don't want it to happen but...I dunno... :/

And in Fatal Frame. This year, Tecmo's releasing a remake of Fatal Frame 2 on the Wii in Japan and Europe. At least according to the Zero Wiki as I was reading it last night.

I forgot about that one.

She'll probably be in DOA5 if it gets a Wii U port too. (If that's the case then hopefully she'll fare better than Spartan in DOA4).

Some new enemies to fight would be welcome indeed. For the most it's been Space Pirates and Metroids. A welcome departure from this was in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes where the two things were just secondary to the primary enemy; the Ing.

I don't think reusing the same environments is an option to the developers anymore and I'm hoping that's the case. They might consider outside help to design the world and enemies.

Hmm... What if there was another Chozo-like race, you think?

I have thought for a while that it would be sorta cool if the entire time, the higher echelons of Galactic federations were being controlled/manipulated by a really old, powerful X parasite controlling the body of someone high up/at the top. Giving the orders to all the secret metroid breeding programs and so on, so that the x could find an immunity to the metroids, or some way to use them. I thought If the X have been around for a long time they could have infected/copied all kind of important people. The g-fed scientist community keeps repeating the same mistakes? It "could" make sense to have the x playing everyone the entire time. What if they finally found a way to mimic metroids through science? Samus would be the only person left to fight them. Just a fun idea ;)

Also: What if there were some Chozo around still because they had been infected and in hiding for so long, they could be ancient Chozo warriors/scientists. that would explain ho the G-feds knew/learned as much about Samus armor etc....

Wasn't the Luminoth pretty much that?

I'd like to see a smaller scale threat actually.

Not every story needs to be a huge epic I guess? I want a Metroid game where you play as 'Samus Aran, capable bounty hunter' as opposed to 'Samus Aran, planet-destroying super badass'.

Completely agree! Just having a space traveling/exploring game with a few places you cold go wit their own distinct environments, atmosphere, and threats would be great! there could be a lot of games with just this premise, and i would enjoy them. I would like the story to continue and eventually end. If they finished the main story, and made "fill in the blank" games that would be equally fun.

If scanning ever comes back (I hope it will), please no more necessary/forced scans. ALL scanning should be 100% voluntary. And as for the series as a whole, they should definitely utilize more scan logs, audio logs, and such for a lot of the series.

I really wanted them to have more visor stuff in other M. It would have made the first person looking around much better! I would hope they have Samus do voice logs, commenting on some of the interesting things. Not sure if you have ever played the first Legacy of Kain, but his[Kain's] commentary is the sole reason to return to that game! It would make sense for Samus to self document/voice-log her discoveries...

I kind of like that her entire past with the Chozo is very vague. However it would very really cool if she hinted at memories or reminders of things as you played. You could scan something, and she would comment on it wile you continued to move on. If it was important than the She could say something about investigating it. With all of the scan tools you got in prime I always wondered why you could not find things and investigate them on your own rather than the game just moving forward. There could be a few small rewarding side quests, or tiny Easter eggs you could find just by being really observant in an environment!

I really enjoyed the tiny things some of the creatures would do in other M if you stopped to watch them a little. It gave life to the environment! There has been so much wasted potential in these games since Metroid Prime? Between the first Prime, and after Other M I have came up with so many nerd-tasitic ideas, that I have started to grind my teeth down to think I might not ever see them? Atmosphere, and subtly! I also really like the idea of walking into a room/space with not just environmental obstacles, but enemies, better yet full on bosses, that I have no power (yet) to defeat them? So you run away/escape. Some of the enemies in other M were really difficult/intimidating! I liked that feeling.

Metroid seems like "100% voluntary" is the best way to go! >_<
