This would be interesting, if true. I wonder if they would go for a FPS like before or try their hand at third person this time around?

Also I'm still waiting for a Metroid 2 remake. The fact Retro threw the idea around internally renews my hopes. :)

We actually host that Samus skin on our site. It was created by Gilbert Arcand, who is currently employed by Ubisoft.

Also, why the hell would they care about UT3 when UT4 is just around the corner...

To be honest from the shots I've seen of UE4 they don't look all that better from UE3 aside from extra particle effects and they still haven't got rid of the plastic look that pretty much all UE3 games have.

Also I'm not sure about this but I guess any hypothetical Metroid title has been in development for some time now using what tech was available at that time? Also it was said somewhere that Nintendo only recently (past few months) made some amendments to the WiiU so that it could comfortably run UE4. Perhaps it's similar enough that the game can be ported easily enough to the new engine, assuming such a game was using unreal in the first place though, which I hope it doesn't.

That's a good point, Chris. And it also makes a lot of sense for Nintendo to send Retro reps over to Epic to check out their UE4 tech since they're in the same country.
