Watch the first two seconds of this video. Then watch the ending, when the entire planet blows up. Tried finding a video of an escape in Prime Hunters, but couldn't find any. But it never tells you why you need to escape. And the one instance where the place you're on is blowing up (Oubliette), you don't have to escape. So, sorry, have to agree with Jesse on this one. Its just a half assed gameplay element that needed to be fully fleshed out. I feel as though when a fan has to step in and make up a scenario for why you're performing x action, the developers didn't try hard enough.

It's a security protocol and it says it in-game. For Super, I was talking about the amount of text-based explanation. If I was talking about the environmental changes I would have brought them up for both games. Yeah, Super has all the explosions and debris scattering about during its self-destruct/bomb escape sequences. While Hunters had Guardians "awaken" when the first Octolith had been taken which makes sense considering taking an Octolith causes a security protocol.
I get that. But if its a "security protocol", with Guardians, etc, (which are excessively easy to kill, btw) why should Samus automatically die? My point being the developers don't say what does the killing. If its a security protocol, that's cool, but I kind of want to know what I'm getting killed by.

I can't comment on the multiplayer since I never tried it out, but the single player was just not very fun. Regardless of whether it was Metroidy or not. The level design, controls, art direction, combat, and music were all very mediocre. I blame it on the multiplayer... If they could have used all there resources for a single player experience, it probably wouldn't have been that bad...

Agreed. I like it as a spin off, because that's what it is.

You know, whenever I feel rage at Other M's plot, there's always good ol' Hunters there to direct my anger elsewhere. Thank you, Hunters, for showing us just how crappy a Metroid game can be.
...And why is it that whenever I read the word Quadtroid, I think of a cross between a Metroid Prime 2 Quad and a Metroid?
Suckers.

Multiplayer was glitched as fuck and the single player just wasn't 'Metroid' enough for me.
I do like the addition of other hunters, but that's about all that I like about the game.
Remembuh me?
Didn't think so.

Comme ci, comme ca. ? hehe funny, although I'm french, I never used this expression.

I liked Hunters, it was actually better than I thought it would be. Yes, the main adventure mode was boring and confusing, but Arcterra was amazing. Though I absolutely despised the music in VDO. And the online multiplayer is awesome. When there aren't any hackers, and the people are nice, I just like to play around and do glitches with them instead of fighting them. Like where you just shoot the ground with the power beam three times and then nod up and down. Thought I hate it when people abuse the imperialist. It's just cruel. So in the long run I'd keep the game. It's not horrible but it's not perfect.

Here's my take on it, I got it as a gift because my friend knew I was a Metroid fanboy. So I smile and take it. I got through it and just didn't like because of one main thing. The story makes absolutely no sense. How on earth does it fit with the rest of the Primes?! It just didn't. It makes no sense in any way, but as a bad spin-off of a great spin-off. And because of that, it makes it redundant. But that doesn't even matter. In fact I have no clue why I posted that. I think I'll keep it for the sake of false comedic value. Anyway, I actually had no problems with the control or multi player. I used to get with three of my good buddies and we'd killl each other on Oubilete. I definately spelt that wrong, but honestly, I don't care. I mean, I loved the Omega Cannon. Recently attempted to replay it, but then my infamous shoulder button problem occured. It was fun, but now, if you asked me if I would buy the thing at full price, hell no. Discount sure. However, go with Pinball. Why? The game's awesome addicting fun.

Er...No, it's not assumed that. Not that I've heard, anyway. I always thought so, though.

Well I know Retro didn't make it, but it is said quite often that the Alimbics created Gorea, and that's what killed them off. But if you're going to tack a great series subtitle (Prime of course) then at least attempt to make it revelant.

I know what you mean, and personally I like the theory. I think maybe it was intended for Gorea to be comparable to Metroid Prime and Emperor Ing, but it came out before Prime 3 so the writers didn't get the connection with phazon.
