Gorea and X Theory

If I said that Gorea was a formless gas, would that break your entire theory apart? After all, the X parasites are gelitanous. Also, where are the other Gorea, since the X parasite uses asexual division to make more than one of itself?

When the Federation is coming to try and collect the X on the B.S.L station, Samus knows that the X in the "station will devour them!" (Metroid Fusion). This characteristic was also used to detail the horror of Gorea, but at a larger scale. The Alimbics knew that if they did not contain Gorea then it "would rampage across the galaxy, devouring everything in its path" (Alimbic War 07).

The "Great Poison sinks into the trees and waters, devouring all life [...] It eats relentlessly, worming out life wherever it blooms and corrupting what it cannot kill." (See MP1 Log Book "Cradle") The Worm also "devours." (See MP1 Log Book "Worm")

Additionally, both Gorea and the X are referenced by a disease description. The X are referred to as "a plague" as Gorea is referred to as "the cancer" (Alimbic Pride 03).

So are the Space Pirates. They are called "A second plague." (See MP1 Log Book "Infestation")

There are many similarities, but I don't believe it. Obviously I can't really disprove it, but really, just because two things are similar, can they not just be different things?
