I can definitely recall when I played my first Metroid game. Metroid 2: Return of Samus. I was in the second to final area (The one with Norfair-esque bubbles and right before the Metroid Hive) and I was actually scared to go into the hive because of how creepy the music was. I went back to the one area where all the beams are kept, and I got the plasma beam, knowing it as the strongest of the beams. I went all the way back and saw the Metroid meter go up after I was stunned by the "red orb of the metroids" as I called it when I was 5. I went into the next room, Fired away at the metroid, and heard that *doing* noise that means it did absolutely nothing. I ran as fast as possible through the entire area, just running to the next room after another with metroids gang raping me. I got to the room full of spikes and the music cut off, then I went to this room with nothing in it, So I went down and got the ice beam, then discovered how incredibly stupid I acted then. *Shakes head with smile*

The Queen won't show up if you didn't kill all of the other Metroids?
I'll have to try this out. (Though I will be armed with the ice beam. I'll kill all but one and see what happens.)

Edit: I've done it! Not only does the Queen not show up, but the spot where she appears has those blocks you can't get through without the baby Metroid. Which is on the other side of the blocks. (It'd be funnier if they weren't there. Sparing a Metroid would mean you could skip the Queen battle and go right to the end of the game.)

Wow, I've never had a problem with Quadraxis. Lowest I've been with killing him is...7 tanks? He gives off way too much health, in my opinion.

I died at the Hive Mecha once. One of the War Wasps knocked me in the acid on Hard and I couldn't jump back onto the platform in time...my biggest fail moment in all the Metroid games. For some reason I had a problem with Mogenar on Hypermode in MP3 and AU 313 on Hypermode. Took at least 20 tries for both, Mogenar's a big pain in the rear...

it's actually pretty hard trying to get back on the platform at Hive Mecha imo. unless you're lucky enough to land on the same side as the steps.

I am playing through zero mission on hard and it took me forever to get through tourian.
1.r button on my SP sticks and wont function correctly half the time
2. Got cornered by metroids
3.Got murdered by turrets and MB's laser.

The music and all that SA-X scene stuff weren't all that scary (although I've seen that cutscene before), but when I had to actually run from it...

Huh, I beat MB on my first try on hard...but I had most of the SM's and Missiles...I'm an item hog
