If you had the power to change ONE aspect of the series, be it gameplay, plot, items, enemies, bosses, you name it. Any aspect of the game, as long as it is one edit.
I don't mind several edits in one post, but the stipulation still applies. Each edit must be in and of itself making the game better.
The games you are allowed to change are any game with the words "Metroid Prime" in the title. Again, one edit.
How would YOU edit the Metroid Prime series to make it better?

I'd remove the Chozo Artifact/Sky Temple Key hunt and replace it with a less tedious system, like in Prime 3, where you get a portion of the power cells through the story and you don't need all of them to access the final area.
The key hunts are really the only annoying part of each Prime game to me.

The music, particularly in the original Prime. Yeah, yeah, lots of people are infatuated with that soundtrack, but compared with the pervasively somber yet still enormously memorable tracks from Super, that synth-heavy boppy stuff seems way out of place.

Release it on PC so we can have faster movement and better aiming.

Sidetrack much?

No. I was just saying that you should try sidetracking the artifacts in the first Prime game. It makes the artifact quest quite fun.

Oh! Then I apologise. I thought you meant I was straying off topic, which I didn't think I was, although I admittedly do that fairly often. I do know how to pick up all but one of the Chozo artifacts through a playthrough with minimal extra backtracking, but I haven't forgotten how the game ground to a complete halt the first time I played it, after stellar Metroidesque gameplay up to that point. Metroid Prime was the perfect 3D sequel to Super Metroid for me, but Super Metroid never forced me to do superfluous backtracking to every area of the game before letting me enter Tourian. Going for 100% completion is a reward in itself, you don't need to add a bonus quest where you have to find 10 specific secrets before you can access the final boss area. If you enjoyed the trek for final boss keys, then points to you.

No need to apologize. I make poor word choices quite a bit. Also, I think you actually have a point, as I thought you were complaining that the artifact hunt slowed down the game every time you played it. Don't ask how I jumped to that conclusion...

Add a Time-Attack mode like in Zero Mission. Also, make the in-game timer show seconds and not just whole minutes.

You must not like Brinstar Jungle then huh? It was always my favorite tune from Super so I'm glad that technoindustrial style was carried over to Prime.
