Samus can't just power walk or sprint?
I explained it in the same paragraph, increasing the speed will change the pacing of the game to some extent I feel. A way to negate this would be to increase the scale of the game world. I worked on a mod for Wolfenstein back in 2009 and one major complaint about the game was it's speed, the past two games in the series had quite fast movement but this one was pretty slow and large parts of the community didn't like it. Anyway we tried altering the speed to match that of the past games, it was a disaster, the maps were built for the default speed and increasing this speed destroyed the balance, luckily this got picked up during private testing and never got out. While I appreciate that the Prime games aren't Supernatural WW2 FPS games I still feel you have to be very careful and think about the consequences of making drastic changes to core elements of the gameplay. I've just been playing through M:OM again and you can see clearly this game was built with speed in mind from the start. The game uses a lot more long corridors and such which are a rarity in the Prime trilogy but because of the game's speed you can navigate them quickly and they are not an issue. If you ported M:OM world to the Prime games it would take an eternity to navigate. If you ported the Prime world to M:OM you would be constantly hitting obstacles and such, it would be very frustrating. tl:dr A game needs to be designed from the start to incorporate whatever speed it uses and stick to it.
I don't think it would ruin the pacing at all. Just add a sprint button or something, so you can run through exceptionally large areas, like how they had the dash to maneuver around enemies. If its limited, cool. A tad increase in speed wouldn't ruin the pacing either. I don't want to move as fast as in Other M, but I also wouldn't mind going faster than what Prime allowed us.

No multiplayer in Echoes so Echoes could've been a better game.

The game was just as big as Prime, and the only real nuisance was going back and forth between the Aether dimensions, and waiting in beacons to heal. I don't think multiplayer really had much impact on the quality of the final product.

Yeah. I got so bad that when I had a high amount of Energy Tanks I would simply leave the game to recharge me while I used the john. AND made my self a Grilled Cheese Sammich! Oh how grueling that was.

The one thing I would change is MP3's finale, and what better way than to incorporate a decent escape sequence? Remember in the very end of "Metal Gear Solid" where Snake has to hitch a jeep and get out of the base fast? This'll be something like that:
Samus defeats Prime (I absolutely REFUSE to refer to her as "Dark Samus") and AU313, and Phaaze starts crumbling around her. Naturally, she calls for her ship to arrive, but the ground is too unstable to allow it to land and let her board, so she improvises by Lassoing onto the Ship Grapple and having the ship airlift her out.
Now comes the actual gameplay part. As the ship flies through the crumbling caverns, Samus (you) has to aim and shoot out incoming enemies and debris to avoid getting hit, like in the SkyTown ziplines (only more forgiving). Occasionally, Samus will need to trigger the Ship Missiles to destroy very large walls, lest she take very heavy damage.
Near the end, Prime comes back yet again (though now looking very heavily-wounded), but it's not a full boss fight: your goal is simply to shoot Prime and prevent her from attacking until you reach the end of the sequence (signified by a Meter counter below).
Once clear, a cutscene plays where Prime grabs onto Samus in a last-ditch attempt to drag her off, but Samus lowers the loading lift and kicks Prime onto it before swinging herself onto it. Samus punches Prime a few times before unloading one last salvo of heavy firepower into her (because after all the hell Prime put her through, Samus deserves a chance to get brutal on her). Now officially out of Phazon to power herself, Prime's body dries up and turns to gray dust that blows off into the distance, though that doesn't stop her from laughing madly one last time.
However, Samus then notices a very large rock heading right for her. Scene fades to white... and the normal MP3 endings start playing.
= Ultimate Warrior = Ultimate Warrior Therefore, = Now you know why they call it Metroid. --- This is the song, written for the chase scene! This is the song, Samus and James! He tri-ied to kill me with a forklift! (Ole!)

You know, that actually sounds pretty good. Though what's with the GIANT ROCK?

Because the audience needs that bit of suspense where Admiral Dane is shaking his head in sorrow that she didn't make it. So she can make her triumphant return from what looked like death.

Re-watch the ending. Techie: Blah blah blah 37% of the fleet got blown up and half of the survivors are reporting heavy casualties Dane: What about Samus? Techie: Negative sir no contact *Awkward silence and zoom on Dane's face, who kind of hangs his head* And then out of nowhere she comes out and gives the thumbs up. It's to create player suspense, a lot of Wii owners weren't around to play previous games nor know anything about the timeline so probably went ZOMG I HOAP SHE IS OK

Well then the timing was seriously off, as well as the music. If you want to do something like that it needed to have more of a pause.

Er... go watch it again, there's a few seconds between him asking if she made it and the transition to a little blip in space as Samus comes out of FTL travel, and the music is slow and low before rising to a triumphant tune once she warps in.

I would have made the metroids more stronger. If you're going to name a video game after a tiny little space jellyfish, at least make them somewhat powerful. Well, they were pretty strong in MP3... But still...
