Re: If you could change ONE THING about the Prime series...On backtracking: the metroid series seems to have done a great job in making backtracking the least tedious among other games that involve backtracking. They almost always make sure to add enough differences in the rooms to lessen the feeling that you are repeating the same rooms over and over (with the exception of the original metroid) and they make sure to add pickups along the backtrack routes that are now accessible with the upgrades you received before you had to backtrack. Also, most parts of the game that involve backtracking inspire a challenge from speedrunners into finding new routes, via sequence breaks, SW's or other glitches, to lessen the time that backtracking adds to the clock. I'm just impressed with the level design I suppose, and I rarely find backtracking to be tedious in this series.

Re: If you could change ONE THING about the Prime series...Well, quite a few changes.
I'd like there to be another subplot in Prime: Project Osiris. As a backup project, in case Helix and Titan utterly failed (which of course they did), then Osiris would kick in. A beast engineered from gorilla and ice creature DNA, the unused IceBoss, would be created, and resurrection was completed much faster than expected, so they outfitted him accordingly. Samus encounters IceBoss in the ruins of a massive human facility on Tallon IV in the drifts, guarding the Gravity Suit area. And Kraid, well, I just made him randomly burst out of the wall after Samus returned to the Elite Quarters. In MP2, one of the surviving Elites (there are survivors you know, some you never get to kill) is changed into another Omega Pirate and is brought to Aether. Samus encounters it somewhere, maybe the Sanctuary Fortress? It of course becomes a Darkling. And when she is about to go up the Sky Temple Gateway, Mr. Unable-to-die appears like he did in MP1 and so Samus has to kill him. He becomes a Darkling as well. In MP3, make Rundas have some feelings for Samus and have her realize them, and call Gandrayda a goddamn bitch when she becomes Rundas. Oh, and Gandrayda can turn into a Reptilicus and the Zero Suit. The Scarp from Scrapvault is alive but in extreme pain, and thrashing about. Samus is forced to operate manual controls to have it killed by dissection, and then cremates the corpse. (those who saw my thread for this thing may be wondering why the hell am I making it a boss?) After blowing up 313, Dark Samus' suit gets shed, and she is actually kind of beautiful. She has Kim Kardashian-style black hair, eyes Albino red and skin electric Phazon blue, clad in orange/tan clothes for some reason (I remember someone looking very much like that, who was it? Some sci-fi movie...). She takes a Leviathan, now able to launch faster than ever before, and Samus must destroy this Mega Leviathan and Dark Samus before they all break the surface of Phaaze. "Yeah, right, trying to trick me again. Well, Harley Quinn is nobody's fool, anymore."
I really love Wikia, FOX and Nintendo. Really... -_- |

Re: If you could change ONE THING about the Prime series...1. make some of the bosses harder, such as
2. Add Kraid. If Ridley can be brought back countless times, why can't Kraid? (Kraid might be in the first game, I'm not sure, I'm mostly too lazy and too much of an asshole to look it up.) |

Re: If you could change ONE THING about the Prime series...Kraid has only ever been in Metroid/Zero Mission and Super.

Re: If you could change ONE THING about the Prime series...
That needs to change PRONTO. (Metroid 5 idea?...) ![]()

Re: If you could change ONE THING about the Prime series...Possibly. Wouldn't mind that.

Re: If you could change ONE THING about the Prime series...Another thing that I would change is harder to fine missile expansions in MP3. I mean, in games such as super, they were very hard to find, but in MP3 They barely tried to hide some of them.

Re: If you could change ONE THING about the Prime series...
Have you played Other M? *walk into mens room, find missile in stall* "I am tired of being under the weight of greedy men who don't believe in anything."

Re: If you could change ONE THING about the Prime series...Yes, I've beat Other M, but we're talking about Prime here.

Re: If you could change ONE THING about the Prime series...Uh, yep, thanks for that, I wouldn't have figured that out on my own in a topic called "If you could change one thing about the Prime series..."
I was adding to the discussion. Kind of like a "If you thought that was bad, check this out..." Chill out. Hate it when people blow a gasket over "being off topic" when it really isn't. "I am tired of being under the weight of greedy men who don't believe in anything."

Re: If you could change ONE THING about the Prime series...I think Metroid games should have this breakdown for finding items:
- 40% Easy to see, easy to get - 25% Easy to see, hard to get (The come back later ones) - 20% Hard to see, easy to get - 15% Hard to see, hard to get But I guess if their location is on the map, they would all be easy. Even the strongest of people can have their faith broken. Mine has.

Re: If you could change ONE THING about the Prime series...Maybe something like speed bonus endings too?
Although they would have to differ in some way from the way the completion endings are. Maybe you get stuff for your ship or something. I don't remember how long it takes to beat Prime-1-2-3, but it could be like: Fast: New model for ship (I don't know what would be coolest, just throwin' this out there) Kind of Fast: New skin for ship Moderate: Some bobbleheads and other stuff, maybe Slow: A speed booster upgrade bobblehead Really Slow: "You're too slow, You're too slow" talking Sonic plushie. I don't know. Discussion authorizedRemember Me?

Re: If you could change ONE THING about the Prime series...Just take Nintendo, place them in the corner and say "For fucks sake. This isn't your series. Give them a chance and stop giving them a Red Light on the best ideas."
Or perhaps I'd take all the good concept and force them to use it instead of the kinda terrible designs they used in the game. |

Re: If you could change ONE THING about the Prime series...I don't mind saying this myself, but I'd hire Thunderchin as the writer for all upcoming Metroid titles. (I've seen his resume, and I think he would be perfect for the job.)

Re: If you could change ONE THING about the Prime series...There's a difference between writing some fan fiction, proposing some new ideas and actually making a game.
As someone once said "Ideas are cheap". |
