The Fission Collider beam absorbs energy from the environment and splits this energy into to parts, positive and negative. Then an internal collider accelerates the particles according to the + or - energy. Then, when fired the + and - energy fuses to create a chemical reaction that causes a small explosion. I know what you mean when you say, " You would attack fire enemies with fire. " but even magma creatures can only take so much heat.

Back in that discussion for JUST ONE POST: maybe the air is coursing with energy. It's minute in quantity, not enough to replenish the shielding (it wouldn't make a dent in the power cells' charge because it is so high-powered), but the Arm Cannon can use it in a shot.

Laser Cutter
This is a constant-fire weapon. Hold down the fire button to continuously fire a thick, powerful laser that cuts organic materials. Metals will melt given concentrated fire with this weapon, but some surfaces are impervious. However, none of these are in living beings, allowing you to cut them down with this weapon. You do want to keep an eye on the included charge gauge, however. As its charge depletes, the cutting action will get weaker until the laser dims out, forcing you to stop firing and let it charge back up automatically. Over about a range of 25 meters, the laser's light will scatter. There is a damage falloff (less damage from further distances).

I made two beams in the past called Acid Beam and Base Beam, but I think two better names would be Corrosive Beam and Caustic Beam. It seems both words are used synonymously, but caustic would probably be more accurate with base substances. Maybe the two should just be amalgamated and called Caustic Beam.

the zeus cannon, simmilar to the wave beam and the annihilator cannon, it would shoot extreamly focussed electrical energy to the point that it destroys anything. however it can only be shot once, but it can kill any enemy, even a boss.

The ray beam. It is not compatible with the charge beam, Because of the way it works. You hold down the shoot button, and it shoots a nonstop light bluish ray. Bounces off of reflective objects, and goes straight through clear objects. I'm thinking that there might be some shiny chrome enemies that would be immune to this beam because it would bounce right off. Kind of like those metal geemers in SM.
(Note: I have not read all of the other posts on this thread, so please don't blame me if I just made up something that someone else already came up with.)

Fear Beam
Causes enemies to flee from fighting. A normal shot will only affect lower level enemies for a short duration. Charging the Beam will increase its power (duh), affecting higher level characters and/or lasting longer.
Frenzy Beam
Causes anyone hit by this weapon to attack anyone and everyone nearby, entirely unprovoked. This can be helpful by casting this shot at several enemies in a group. Duration and strength are affected same as with the Fear Beam, above.

A beam that works similar to the grapple beam from Other M or Super Metroid (where it comes out of the gun) that when locked on an enemy Samus can temporarily stun them, then she can sling it anywhere in her current position. Though she cant move while its active, its probably the most powerful. Second, a beam thats invisible to any enemy-even Samus. While the beams active Samus cannot lock on or anything. She can only point her arm cannon at an enemy and hope for the best. Also its extremely fast and powerful. Third, a Metroid type beam. When active, three nebulas (the three red spheres in the Metroid) swirl around the outer part of them arm cannon when equipped. Samus can siphon the energy from any enemy she comes in contact with. It takes a while to siphon the life though. But as a plus, it makes the enemy somewhat crazy and it starts to imagine a Metroid on its head. Sending into a rampage to get it off. This is not useful against any Metroid-controlling-enemies/bosses though. When this is active she is EXTREMELY vunarable to ice attacks.

Anti Gravity Beam Makes enimies levitate or float, unable to attack for 10 seconds
Pincer Beam An electric beam the sends a shock to the enemy, and three powerfull electric pulses home in on the stunned enemy.
Sticky Missle (or beam) This costs five missles, and has a damage ratio of a Super Missle. Samus fires it and it sticks onto the enemy taking five seconds for it to kill it, same with beam. It can only be dislodged by water.
Random Beam Fires a Super Random beam.

Fuck It Button, I mean beam.
Shoot it once, and you beat the game.
Sexy Beam
Fire homing lasers and hearts that make enemies more agreeable, and no longer want to kill you.
Darwin Beam
Kills only weak enemies.

Here's mine: The Oscillator Beam.
It basically builds off from the sound capabilities of the Annihilator Beam from Prime 2; technically it uses the power of sound vibrations (hence oscillation) as a weapon, with the actual beam energy merely emitting the destructive sound waves rather than the beam itself being the weapon. Said beam would be green in color (akin to prime 3's Nova Beam). It would have a very fast firing rate, more so than the Power Beam, and have very far range, but would also be one of the weakest beams.
Besides using it for sound puzzles building off from Prime 2's, using a charge shot on an enemy would disorient it, initially like the Wave Beam, in that for a moment it is stunned, but when the enemy moves again its aim/accuracy in hitting its target is lowered. The dazed enemy would also visually look drunk.
You could also use it to bait enemies. Shooting the Oscillator beam in a far-off corner within an enemy's range of perception will make them go investigate, allowing you to sneak up on it or past it if you don't want to mess with it just yet.
Be not proud of what you make, but what impact it leaves on others. If a fucking horseshoe crab is nearly killing you in one hit, there's something wrong with this "incredibly powerful" bounty hunter. ~HYRUL3

David Cameron/Barack Obama beam (depending on game release in England or USA): Instead of firing energy, this beam fires extremely boring political speeches which have various different effects. It may: Anger the enemy(s), causing them to headbutt nearby walls in mindless rage until they die from blunt trauma. Make the enemy(s) fall asleep, and, given the amount of time exposed, die of boredom. Make the enemy(s) become inspired. If so, they will stay where they are, transfixed. Make the enemy(s) start a riot, which will kill/seriously harm any persons in the area. On rare occasions, Ed Milliband/Mitt Romney (again, depending on region), will interrupt the speech, enhancing the effect on the enemy(s).

Where are the awesome beams guys? Most of this page are "witty" beams.
The Atom Beam- Shoot target with this beam (organic only, otherwise things would get FUCKED UP). The target then has all of its atoms compacted into a much smaller object, then explodes, annihilating everything around it like a larger power bomb. Samus does not get affected by this blast.
