Hardest Items In Primes

Postby AngusRidley » 05.30.11 6:43pm

1: That high Missile Tank in Research Lab Aether (on that tiny catwalk). Takes me at least three times each playthrough.
2: That Energy Tank in the Torvus Plaza. Man, the view angles suck here.....
3: Bores the crap out of me. I stopped in Fire Bryyo.

The hardest for me to get would be the Missile Expansion in Scrapvault. I can't even enter that room.

Having only played the first two so far, I say the Energy Tank in Magmoor Caverns, hands down. It requires precision double bomb jumping--three times in a row--and if you fail enough times, you can actually die trying to get this tank.

Then there was that expansion in Echoes that required you to basically roll on spider tracks and boost jump blindfolded because the stupid camera angled itself *behind* the mechanisms you were jumping from/to. WTF was up with that?

That was actually a glitch I think. They fixed it for the PAL and Metroid Prime Trilogy release.

Nope, I played it on the Trilogy version and definitely had that problem.

This is, in fact, the Torvus Plaza tank mentioned in the first post. I encountered the same problem the other day. I can't remember encountering it when I originally played the game; is it a glitch that popped up for the PAL/Trilogy release? That'd be strange. (and REALLY friggin annoying)

Either way, it's definitely the hardest pickup in Prime 2 for sure.

Nothing really struck me as tough in Prime 3, but an honorable mention goes to the Energy Cell in Hidden Court because of how much trekking you have to do between ship grapple points to get that one. Simple in terms of what you do, but if you're playing in Hypermode difficulty, there's a whole lot of things that can kill you before you finish it all.

I agree with you here, but it has become much easier after doing it so many times. Not to mention, in the Metroid Prime trilogy, this isn't difficult anymore.

If you're talking about what I think you're talking about, it has only happened to me once. You guys have some f***ed up versions.

I really can't think of an upgrade expansion that is difficult for me.

I remember that one. Although in later playthroughs I never had that problem again.

None of the items are hard for me to get, just many of them are just stupid boring to get to.

This. I've done 100% runs on MP1 and 2, and currently am doing one for 3 right now. If I were to pick one, it'd be the one in Skytown, Elysia, before you get the Boost ball, in that room. Above the tranist thing with the Grapple hooks. Hold on...

This Missile Tank.

Easy, there is a spot on the ground where I always screw attack to grab it.

Yup.
In metroid Prime 2 there is one energy tank that always mazes me. The one where you have to screw attack out in the the background where a very unnoticeable platform is in Torvus Bog always just amazes me.
