The Metroid Prime Trilogy Trivia Thread!

Postby darksamus77 » 06.16.10 3:31pm

Since the first guess for the Echoes riddle was right, I decided to make a Trivia thread, featuring some neat questions, 5 at a time, that I'll change as each is answered. You can answer one or all, take a shot if you don't know the answer...

1. Prime and Echoes have three different types of Metroids. True or False? Name them
2. How many different beams are there in the Prime Trilogy?
3. Every Prime has a Super Metroid song in it True or False? Name the songs and the place where they reappear
4. What dark creature in Echoes (besides the Ing) does not appear in the light world?
5. Name every planet where you encounter Shriekbats.

Opium, that's spot-on correct. Darn, I was hoping there would be a few bad ones before a right one :( I love little Metroid things like this...I thought it would be fun. I'll make it a Metroid Prime Trivia thread, then! lol

They are all enemies that Samus kills with little difficulty.

Oh hey, do you have another?

Sure, I got one!

What do Ridley, Kraid, and Mother Brain all have in common?

Hmm...they're all Metroid bosses, and they've been together in 3 games, Metroid, SM, and ZM

False. There are at least five (normal/tallon, hunter, fission, dark, and infant). More, if you count the weird ones that the fission metroids split into.

2. How many different beams are there in the Prime Trilogy?

Assuming you mean only Samus' beams and not NPC ones, there are nine: power, wave, ice, plasma, phazon, dark, light, annhilator, and nova. Possibly ten, since the GF plasma beam you get in Corruption seems to be very different from the Chozo version in Prime.

3. Every Prime has a Super Metroid song in it True or False? Name the songs and the place where they reappear

True. Prime has an unfitting remix of Ridley's Palace in the Magmoor Caverns. Echoes has an awesome Red Brinstar mix in Lower Torvus. Corruption has a decent Space Pirate remix for the Pirate Homeworld.

4. What dark creatures in Echoes (besides the Ing) does not appear in the light world?

The Phlogus, the Nightclaw, and the Nightbarb (though you could argue that the latter are the counterparts of the sandbat). There are also the various eyeball web thingies, but those all seem like types of Ing to me.

5. Name every planet where you encounter Shriekbats.

Tallon IV, Aether, Bryyo, Elyssia, Norion, and the Pirate Homeworld. Shriekbat-P also appear on the GFS Valhalla.

All bosses (the first three in the series, in fact), all appeared in Metroid, Super Metroid, and Metroid Zero Mission, all have been encountered on Zebes.

Here are some of my own:

1. What is the geographically highest point of the game map in Echoes?

2. How did the last Lord of Science meet his end?

3. What is the first enemy you ever meet on Tallon IV?

4. Who is the most efficient bounty hunter in the known galaxy?

First enemy Samus meets are the Beetles on Tallon IV. Ok, here's a few more

1. What do Space Pirates refer to Dark Samus as initially?
2. How many different types of Space Pirates are in Echoes?
3. What is the Great Poison referring to?
4. Why do the Pirates excavate Phazon?
5. How many forms does Gandrayda have? (or copied forms, if you will, plus her)

actually, there are several answers.
if you follow the route to chozo ruins, that is true, but the blue things are found on the [[path to the temple.a dead end, true, but the enemies are encountered IN that dead end. and that path is taken by many people on the first playthrough, so i believe either answer counts.

Very true, that is one long elevator...

Oh, you mean Seedlings, then, Darkus Triforce. Yes, I guess that would count, but I normally just go straight to Chozo, knowing I need missiles to get the first Artifact...

Not true. You need missiles to get into the hallway with those things. Your first encounter will always be beetles.

no. youo can enter the hallway to the temple, (not the hallway IN the temple, outside it) but the temple itself needs a missile. therefore the seedlings found on the way TO the temple CAN be encountered first.
