Re: Which Prime's 1+2 versions do you like better?Back off topic.... Krono, torvus and Agon are not where the game truly shines, you have to wait until the sanctuary fortress

Re: Which Prime's 1+2 versions do you like better?I thought lower Torvus was pretty atmospheric, though it is a fair criticism to say that some of the environments are just kind of drab (Agon and Temple Wastes being big offenders). Sanctuary Fortress, however, is one of the single best areas in all the Prime games, though.

Re: Which Prime's 1+2 versions do you like better?I like the Wii versions better because the controls feel incredibly smooth, and they incorporated all of the awesome things that were in the PAL versions but not on the US versions (though I will miss you badass Phazon Suit cutscene).
And though Echoes isn't my favorite game, I enjoyed Echoes quite a bit. It has in my opinion some of the best, creative bosses in the Metroid series. Quadraxis is actually one of my favorite bosses of all time. ![]() ![]() Do a barrel roll! |

Re: Which Prime's 1+2 versions do you like better?I do love that Metroid Prime loads faster on the wii.

Re: Which Prime's 1+2 versions do you like better?I didn't know you aren't able to sequence break on the Wii versions. That sucks. I like to both play the games as they were intended, but when I want some variation I want to do it "my way".
In Echoes I do it to get 101 % or to make it easier in the beginning. Like to have 5 extra missiles and an energy tank for the first battle. And to kill the Jump guardian a lot quicker and without even entering the battle arena. I will stick to my GC versions and take care of my hand controllers. But I still think I will buy the trilogy pack. We shall see. |

Re: Which Prime's 1+2 versions do you like better?Well Trilogy is no longer being produced, so if you want it, you'll have to find a used copy on ebay (and they ran like 80 bucks the last time I checked). ![]() ![]() Do a barrel roll! |

I've seen them cheaper elsewhere... |

I remember a used one being $30 (I think yesterday or the day before), so its not completely hopeless. You just need to really look around. "Cut! There are no second chances for actors that fall to the abyss. Await your second casting in the darkness forever." - The Night of Wallachia

Re: Which Prime's 1+2 versions do you like better?I bought mine used at Gamestop for $70. I figured I'd try to go local before I'd pay $80+shipping to get it on Ebay. I haven't played it much yet, but I've played and beaten both of the GC versions, and I loved them both. Yeah, Echoes had some ridiculous boss fights (Boost Guardian and Spider Guardian, 8 tries and 6 tries, respectively) but I really enjoyed the game. I thought the Sanctuary Fortress was pretty sweet, but I think as far as fascinating areas go, I have to go with Bryyo, the Leviathan seeds and Phaaze from MP3. I also liked the Torvus Hydrodynamo Station (well, I loved the music, that's for sure! I squealed like a teenage girl at a Justin Bieber concert when I realized that was an awesome Red Brinstar remix!).
Back on topic, I have not yet played the Trilogy versions yet, but I can't wait to plug them in! I've played the stand-alone MP3 and I really liked the controls, so I think I may like the Wii version better, especially since I've heard that MP2 has the spring ball so I think that would make the Spider Guardian easier since I don't have to time bomb jumps so precisely, therefore I don't have to be in such a rush on the fourth part of the "fight". I think I'm going to type in red from now on. I like red. |

Re: Which Prime's 1+2 versions do you like better?Motion controls n' point & click are great and all, but I'm a old fashioned kinda guy, I prefer the Gamecube controller. Probably one of my favorite console controllers ever, actually. I still enjoy the Trilogy version (especially considering my GC no longer operates), but I'm just way better with a GC controller than the Wiimote, on-top of enjoying it more.
On the topic of cool locations, Sanctuary Fortress (as well as the Ing Hive) has always been my favorite, with Bryyo coming in as runner-up. But all the locations RinoaFantasy mentioned are awesome, and are probably my favorites after Sanctuary. I've spent a lot of time trying to imagine what SF would've looked like if they had done it with the power and style of Corruption. Honestly, I never had an issue with the Boost Guardian. I've never died to it, not once. Admittedly I only made 4 full playthroughs of MP2 (2 normal, 2 hard), so maybe I just got lucky? On the other hand, it took me a month to beat the Spider Guardian.. and yes, that Trilogy-version Spring ball makes it sooooo much more enjoyable! |

Re: Which Prime's 1+2 versions do you like better?
I liked those controllers a lot as well, in fact I prefer to use that controller when playing Brawl instead of the Wiimote. I liked that controller with the Primes, but I liked how unique and different the Wiimote controls are!
Sanctuary fortress with the power and style of Corruption? *nerdgasm*
I dunno, it was just difficult for me. I've noticed that a lot of people have different experiences with different bosses. For example, a lot of people love the Quadraxis fight. It was interesting, but not my favorite. I enjoyed fighting Metroid Prime and Meta Ridley much more. I've heard that people also have trouble with Omega Ridley. I thought it was a reasonably challenging and really fun fight, possibly my favorite. I got him on my first try. (Granted, this is all on normal mode.) Also, with the Spider Guardian, the hardest part was in the fourth/last part, where you had to make it to all of the bomb slots in time, and only having the option to bomb jump made it more difficult. my hands got shaky and made it hard to position the morph ball in the right spot. I think I could get SG pretty easily with the spring ball though! *Fingers crossed* |

Re: Which Prime's 1+2 versions do you like better?@ RinoaFantasy
I feel ya on those controls. I've only played Brawl a couple times tbh, but everytime I do play it I'm using the GameCube controller. I definitely like the Wiimote, but I'll always be partial to a good, classic-style controller in my hands. Quadraxis I didn't have much difficulty with, but he stomped me psychologically. Well, not necessarily Quadraxis himself, but once I realized there were no Light Crystals in the arena, I started to panick. I started playing the Prime series with Echoes, so I wasn't really in-tune with the Metroid franchise or the Prime series in general, and as a result (along with my particular playstyle) I didn't have very many expansions or energy tanks. Thought the atmosphere of Dark Aether was going to kill me before I nailed Quadraxis. Luckily I still made it. I haven't fought against Omega Ridley yet. I don't own Corruption or the Trilogy, so I have to borrow it from friends when I can. He looks kinda easy from what I see from walkthroughs, but then again there's LP'ers out there who can make everything look easy. And I definitely agree with you on the fourth section of the Spider Guardian. Killed me at least 20 times in just that one section. That's why I took me so long to beat him.. I got so fed up spending so much time just getting to the fourth part that I would eventually stop playing for a couple days to a week. |

Re: Which Prime's 1+2 versions do you like better?Yeah, when I play SSBB, I love using my Wavebird controller.
I thought the Quadraxis fight was a pain in the rear at the end, where you had to boost onto his head. 20 times at the Spider Guardian? Wow, I thought the six attempts I did were frustrating enough! I'm just super stubborn, I kept trying until I got it, even though I wanted to throw my TV out the window at the end! The fight itself wasn't too bad, but the fact that we had to start back about 20 minutes before the battle was really annoying! I highly recommend you get Prime 3, Trilogy or not, it's absolutely fantastic. |

Re: Which Prime's 1+2 versions do you like better? The Wii version is great when you are used to pc gaming. I'm a bunny hopping faggot who skips around shooting fairy magic at people. I do this to be a fast, annoying cunt to the ai.
Translation: I like b-hopping to move quicker, and to become a hard to hit target for the ai so I can frag everything with no trouble. |
