Tusk Monster Help

I have made it through the game fairly easily until this point. I am fighting the Tusk Monster on the elevator just after getting the wave beam. From what I hear this is right before the glitch may force me to start over. I keep getting killed by the Tusk Monster. I've fought him tons of times and he keeps killing me before I even get a chance to figure out how to fight him. The guides I've read make it seem pretty easy, but I am having no luck. I can't seem to dodge his attacks and my energy is gone within 30 seconds. Can anyone give me some solid tricks on how to kill this thing? Maybe I'm not skilled enough at sense move?

Just move SenseMove a lot. When his eye turns red, use a missile on him, which will allow you to use a Lethal Strike. He'll either go away after some time has passed or when you deal some damage to him.

Remember that he usually swipes twice, and make sure to dodge them both. Hold down 1 whilst dodging then let it go to fire straight after you finished the dodge, this might catch him off guard. When he shoots the purple beam, dodge to the side, shoot off a charged blast and then spam single shots at him until he stops shooting. If you need to concentrate, try to get as far away from him as you can whilst he's shooting the purple beam, and concentrate there. Hopefully he'll give you enough time whilst he's coming back over to you.

Yeah, all I can say is spam the dodge attack, and follow it up with a charge shot.
