IE discovered this one. You can fire off a super-missile almost instantaneously after going into first-person mode. How you do it is first charge up your beam in third-person. Then, while holding down 1, point the Wiimote at the screen. Samus will still have her full charge. However, you still have to lock on. Use your other hand to hold down B to get a lock and release 1. Instant Super!
It takes a little practice as it's harder to aim while holding the Wiimote two-handed, but it's a skill that comes in handy in fights where Super Missiles are required. Practice it a few times in a relatively safe room to get better at aiming and recharge when the missiles run low. I kind of like this move because it makes you feel like you've got your hand steadying your gun arm.

I figured this out myself, and maybe I'm just a creepy octopus thing from R'lyeh, but I never had a problem with doing that with a single hand. Thumb on the 1 button and index finger under B.

Nice, I did notice that you could hold a charged shot that way but I never thought to try a super missile. Seems like it could be tricky, but it would be quite useful in a few situations.

You can get it even faster by sense-moving for an instant full charge, then doing the switch.

I used this technique against Nightmare and Ridley, as well as the Queen Metroid. I have a bad habit of holding down the charge button through out the entire game, as I like to be prepared, so this was a no-brainer for me.

I do too! I just stopped doing it in OM since you can't shoot a charged beam and run simultaneously like in the other games; then again, I guess It's more realistic to be blown back a little when you shoot out a deadly blow.

Sadly, I figured this out right after finally beating Ridley on hard and his ass killing me 30 times.

To get one of the items in the Biosphere, you're actually required to do this. You have to switch into first person view to shoot a Super Missile at a door on the ceiling while sliding down a slope, but you don't have enough time to switch then charge, so charging beforehand is necessary.
I could be wrong, although, if I am, then the timing for that maneuver is really strict because charging before switching to first person view is the only way I was able to have the charge ready by the time I was required to shoot that door.

Last time I did it, by the time I pointed at the screen and charged the shot up, I was already directly under it, but I fired the Super Missile anyway, and it worked.

This saved my ass against the Desbrachians (beetle-like enemies that you have to wake up with a power bomb) in the epilogue. Damn, I hate those things...

I did when they went into those cocoons until I realized that they were invulnerable while concentrating.
