Things you dislikeMy biggest problem with the game is the way you recover health and the fact that you pretty much have infinite missiles but have to reload. And at aim is annoying. Other than that, I love it.

Re: Things you dislikeYou are not gonna like Hard mode if those are things you dislike most about the game... I, on the other hand, enjoyed that aspect.
I disliked the shoddy transitions from cutscene to Quick-Time-Event. I got killed so many times because I had no idea or cue that I was supposed to take the controller in hand after the 10 minute talkfest. Grrrrr. ![]() X-Ray Scope Acquired! |

Re: Things you dislikeJust keep this in mind: Whenever you see something menacing heading towards you, madly tap a d-pad direction so you can Sense move out of the way. That will be one of the most common ways people die in Hard mode.

Re: Things you dislikeOh, this isn't really gameplay related but I also hate that the Wii can't be displayed in true HD.

Re: Things you dislikeAlso, I dislike how you can't go back to the title screen unless you die and select 'No' at the continue screen.

Re: Things you dislikeBefore you read my dislikes I want to say that I really enjoyed Other M, and had a lot of fun playing it all throughout.
That being said, here I go...
I disliked the fact that you have (almost) all your stuff from Super Metroid, but can't use it. Some specific things like not being able to switch on Varia were real head-scratchers. That dislike leads me to my next major dislike. There were no special items to find, because you had them all already? What? I've always loved Metroid games for that rewarding feeling you get when you happen upon some strange technology that allows you to do new and wonderful things! That was a big void in Other M in my opinion. You're on a bio-weapons development station for crying out loud. There could have been some kind of cool bio arm cannon or suit augmentation. The best thing we got was the diffuse upgrade. That was nice and handy, but not a mind-blowing game-changer. Missile and energy tanks don't count here. It's like the designers said "well it is a Metroid and people will be pissed if there's nothing to find, and even though Samus has almost everything else let's take her missiles and energy tanks away so we don't lose the item acquisition element completely." Somethings were just completely dissed like Hi-Jump boots and X-ray visor. They brought some platforming back to Metroid. Hooray! But the ice beam, the one thing that sets Metroid apart from other platformers doesn't factor in. Will we ever be able to use a frozen enemy as a platform or riser again? Another thing is there is no real reward for beating bosses other than survival, unlocking a door, or making it to the next cutscene. Then there's our lady Samus. What did they do to her? She withstands soo much throughout everything, but one shot from a g-fed ice gun has her gimped out for 10 minutes? Come on! I won't go into her emotional issues.
Ok, I'm done here for now. ![]() Last edited by Sorcerio on 08.31.10 8:18pm, edited 2 times in total.

Re: Things you dislikeAt this point I am trying really hard to not conclude that it sucks, but that isn't easy. I'm disappointed as hell so far.

Re: Things you dislike
Um... I actually took note in that scene
The effect isnt the same as the Freeze Gun effect later in the same cutscene when Adam shoots the Infant Metroid. It had a wierd purple distortion to it and Samus had no freezing effect on her. I would venture to say it was an EMP shot. He does have a THIRD gun after all!
Adam: The cake is only a lie because I did not authorize it. |

Re: Things you dislike
And what's keeping you from hitting the "Home" button on the Wiimote and clicking "reset"? |
|
Re: Things you dislikeNothing
I think it turned out better than I thought. The game feels natural to me. The best part is that is has not let up, or become frustrating once. I am happy, just my opinion. Those who follow rules, have failed to follow their hearts.-Me
-I often find it easier to find truth in the dark. Where others failed to see, or are afraid to look. |

Re: Things you dislikeBecause when I hit that button, it makes a loud-as-Hell noise that is much louder than the current game playing. I'd rather die than hit the mute button. ![]() X-Ray Scope Acquired! |

Re: Things you dislikeJust beat the game 100% this morning. It took me about 6 hours to beat the main story, not bad.
After playing it myself the only things I really disliked was that the game held your hand and it was even more linear than fusion was, but I absolutely HATED the forced FPV sections and having to switch first first person for battle it disrupts the flow of gameplay and it's just generally a poor design choice. The Ridley scene wasn't too bad, but it was far too exaggerated. The whole suit scene with Adam was ridiculous too. Samus - She's the only woman I'll ever love.
