Wow I'm surprised. There aren't any other threads for this. I'm gonna start by saying that kirby is a demented, violent, cannibalistic ball of death wrapped in the most innocent looking sprite nintendo could develop at the time. (and that's why I adore him <3) If I had to pick a favorite main character that wasn't one of nintendo's big three (Mario, Zelda and Metroid), kirby would probably be it :D

I absolutly ADORE Kirby games. I don't care how pink and cute and cuddly he his, he's AWESOME! Speaking as a male gamer who is totally confidant in his masculinity, I find Kirby adorable, deceptively even, much like <3's, he's lovably deadly.

Kirby games are traditionally easy, intended expressly as novice challenges, regardless I not only own them all I've also found a fair deal of skill involved in many of them, and they've proven a great introductory into the hobby propper for those just starting out with such digital delights. They certainly have a unique charm all their own.

What I love the most about the Kirby series, aside from the titular mascot of course, is the music, the vast majority of which I often find stuck in my head, humming or otherwise singing along through out my daily druggery, and by no surprise as I so often listen to it, either original or remixed. The series definitely has some of the most imediately memorable tunes in the industry, then again Nintendo, specifically in this case HAL Labroratories, is well known for their various games many catchy tunes.

He's also one of my top 3 characters in Smash Brothers, between Samus and Meta Knight. A great mixture of speed and strength, his adaptability and mobility are priceless. There's also something just delightfully insulting in kicking someone's ass, hard, with the super tuff pink puff then having him gloat about it, on screen, of all things adorably. The burliest heros and villians, at least what passes for burly by Nintendo standards, killed by cuteness. Priceless.

What is everyone's favorite game in "Kirby Super Star". Mine is probably "The Great Cave Offensive", which just occurred to me isn't surprising because it is the most metroid-like.

Did you know our modern Kirby was actually a place-holder sprite the developers put in while they procrastinated in making a better one? Eventually they grew fond of it and decided to make it the real sprite.

Meta knight's Revenge is my favorite as Meta knight is my favorite character in the game <3, followed by milky-way wishes probably because it gives you more choices than other modes and is a little bit like legend of zelda (tons of different themed area with a boss at the end that you have to beat and a small plot twist)
I can see why one would like the treasure hunting game, but I found it too confusing o_O (I was never able to finish the first metroid either -_-;)

Huntress, you sound like a clone of my friend's little sister. XD She's absolutely obsessed with Kirby.

To my shame, the only kirby game I've played is Pinball. Ah, fond memories of frustration...

Yeah, I finally beat Kirby's Adventure on an emulator and am now playing crystal shards (after which I'm considering getting a ds emulator for super star ultra, though all I really want to play is meta knightmare :P)

And whoever says kirby games are made to be easy should fight Nightmare's sphere mode in Adventure (I eventually had to turn on invincibility mode after losing eight lives -_-;)

Kirby and the Amazing Mirror is one of my favorite games of all time, and it is the most Metroid-esque of all Kirby games. I seriously recommend it to all who frequent these forums.

There was a time when I was in vacations and had nearly nothing to do and I got 100% on Amazing Mirror every two days.

Just got the emulated version of amazing mirror today :D I only wish the AI weren't as dumb as bricks (sorry to any bricks offended by the comparison :P)

Edit: and by AI, I don't mean enemy AI as they've killed me many times while I wasn't careful enough, but those retarded clones are terribly thick

Indeed they are. Probably a scheme to force your friends to buy the game and play with you.

So, what's everyone's favorite kirby power? My personal preferences are (not including crash or any similar ones) :
Fighter (amazing mirror) because it makes you feel like a bada**
Sword (amazing mirror) because final cutter is awesome
Plasma (super star) because it also makes you feel like a bada**
ninja (super star) who doesn't like ninjas :phazon:
UFO (adventure) because it's so difficult to get but provides such a huge amount of fun in return for grind through enemies for it :awesome:

I have to add:

Smash (Amazing Mirror). Who doesn't love Up+Bs?
Master (Amazing Mirror). It made you become God in pink.
Hi-Jump (Nightmare in Dreamland). That explosive jump just rocks.
Mini (Amazing Mirror). Chibi-Kirby is awesome!

I also adore the ones mentioned above by doc O. Mire.

Kirby AirRide is golden.
So enjoyable and fun to play with others (City Trial!).
I still have it, and it's still lots of fun to play.

Another Kirby game I like is Nightmare in Dreamland and SuperStar. I yet have to try SuperStar Ultra, but eh.
I liked Great Cave Offensive too, BlackCat.

And now that you mention Amazing Mirror, Darth, I need to try it, and so I will.

By the by, Kirby in any of the Smash games is <3.

I like (all from superstar):

Reflect: My favorite. It has a can reflect attacks, has a wide effective area, and can be fired continuously. The dash attack is also good for clearing out groups of enemies since it attacks in front and behind.

Yo-yo: Has an extremely long range for a non-projectile weapon, and can attack enemies in all directions. The dash attack is also very powerful and one of the faster dash attacks.

Beam: Useful because it has both short and long-range attacks, as well as a decent dash attack.

Wheel: Because its fun :D. But I usually immediately turn it into a helper and ride him since I think it looks cooler.

Least favorite:

Cutter: Has both short and long-range attacks, but they both suck.

Stone: Hard to hit enemies, and the invincibility rarely helps because enemies usually stick around a single area.

Rocket: Its takes too long to charge and has too short of a range, and can only hit one enemy. Without charging it is slow and hard to control.
