Me too, the think I most suck at Metroid(all but Fusion, of course) is bomb jumping. Maybe someday I'll get better...

Bomb jumping takes practice. if your good at it you can grab items pretty early in the game.
you have to start the bomb jump in mid air, it cant be done from the ground , to start you have to be about this hieght from the bomb in mid air:

when you start lifting yourself with bombs you lay a bomb after every "BOOM" you hear and you will make it to your destination above, concentrate on the sound more than the picture, thats the easiest way IMO.

I'v tired bomb jumping for years, and still can't do it for long, i can get a few jumps in there, then i just lose it, i mainly stick to wall jumping since it's very easy to do, and can be done off basically anything...

I never had a problem starting from the ground.

More power to you, but its less time consuming when you start in mid-air.

Jump straight up and morph as you're going up, then lay a bomb at the right time. It's hard to get the distance right, but when you do, it saves a lot of time.
It's like this:
(Peak of jump)
.
o <-Bomb here.
.
.
.
.
O <- Morph here.
.
.
:D <- Jump here.

Um, if you’re speedrunning, I guess. But the 20 seconds or so doesn’t seem worth it otherwise.

So, i finally figured out how to bomb jump, straight up only, but it's really god damn easy. I can't do it from mid air, but it's not hard to do starting on the ground.

If you didn't know already, I made a thread for challenge runs like that.
Take this, Ridley! Wait... Did I forget the plasma beam?

Eh, Draygon's always been one of those long, pointless, tedious bosses that I appreciate skipping over. Stand in the middle, fire missiles into her belly, morph ball, run if spewing globs, repeat for ten minutes. No danger, no problem, not really worth doing "properly". The other three main bosses can kill you dead if you slip up, Kraid less so but you can still get into trouble. Draygon's pretty much a foregone conclusion if you go into the fight even half awake. C'mon, Draygon's the main guardian version of Spore Spawn. Just settle into a pattern and missile your way through it with little chance of failure.

I beat the game already without grappling beam and without varia suit, and used no missiles in bosses(only mother brain for make it quickly to the end),it is only really hard in the part that you need to pass a great path to take the speed booster, the rest of the game is easy to progress without these 2 powerups
And no used bombing jump too, i really don't know the right timing yet=/
If i was in Metroid universe, i would marry Samus, and if i could choose an ability,Speed Booster would be mine. Finally i got all ending pictures,Metroid Fusion JP Version Completed
