Empty Tourian?

I recently started playing Super Metroid again on my old SNES cart. I loaded my game from when I was a kid, and was finishing some item collection before deciding to fight Mother Brain. When I entered Tourian it was completely empty, no metroids, no boss door, and no zebetites once I got to Mother Brain's room. I have a game genie and was wondering if this maybe could've caused it but I can't figure out the codes that I could've used to do this, so I was wondering if anyone has ever done this? I didn't use the reset glitch and leave or anything as I didn't know about it back then, all I had was the cart and game genie.

n/m I figured it out, I got up to mother brain, killed all the zebetites, left and saved then used game genie to warp out, when you come back tourian is empty except for the things the metroid eats.
