Best source for all maps metroid:

http://www.dubreuil.ca/mapstation/

I like to print them out on glossy paper, then put them in a photo album page with a plastic protector film over it. Then, I can write on the map and mark off the items as I pick them up. When I'm done, I can just take the map out and it has no writing on it - ready for another use! Repeat until all items and route are memorized.

Opium you are awesome! :awesome:

Can those be printed and still legible on 8x11 paper? I'll certainly use that M2: RoS map! Thank you!

Thanks, Opium! I've just taken a look at the link and was amazed to see maps for the likes of Ice Metal Uninstall and Super Zero Mission - genius :D

Speaking of trouble with the boots, I got offed again - fell into some lava with two very large pillars to the left and right and the top was just out of reach XD

Stood there watching Samus burning because there was just no way out - felt awful - I've killed her so many times x_x

I decided to get the Varia Suit rather than continue killing Samus in a series of unexpected and horiffic ways :)

Current Status: Morph Ball, Bombs, Hi-Jump Boots ( XD ), Screw Attack, 4x Energy Tanks, 70 Missiles.

There's an Energy Tank left in Norfair but that's becoming like the boots, always something to catch me out XD Probably be worthwhile to take my time and collect pickups to recharge her as well, my mistake is to rush - but it has gotten easier with those power ups - I'm making far less mistakes. Although, the jumps seem to be a little "floaty" on this one as well as Metroid II - maybe a difference in the planet's gravity?.. :D

Legible, yes. Tiny, also yes.

I haven't printed all of them. The Eris ones look like they'd be really hard to read because of all that text.

Legible, yes. Tiny, also yes.

I haven't printed all of them. Some of them look like they'd be really hard to read because of all that text. I really just use the simplified ones.

I got the 3DS Ambassador Program so I have it on my 3DS now. I'd rather play Zero Mission though. O_O

Quick update between mountains of work:

Status: Stacks of Missiles, all the energy tanks/upgrades, got my ass handed to me by Mother Brain x_x - well, by the annoying floaty things that constantly hit you. I simply must formulate a strategy after I collect a ton of pickups. My eyes twitched and I had to sit it down for a minute before things get real 8B

"My racing thoughts started to frustrate me..."

Hoping my supervisor won't ask too much of me so I can get through it - and start Other M again (the bad and weird can be ignored and are dwarfed by the good) :D

Hope everyone's still having fun with the original - I love it! :awesome:

Welcome back, UV! :awesome: (This is Rinoa, by the way, I changed my name a couple of days ago.)

Some advice for the Mother Brain fight...take out all of the Zebetites then go back and kill more Metroids to refill your health and missiles. (The Metroids respawn, the Zebetites don't!) You may need to freeze a Rinka to get out of one spot near Mother Brain. You'll thank me later. :)

Thanks Rinoa, I'll have to try that - now this Robot thing is over (less said) ;)

You know, I still keep playing it from time to time but I'm slowly reclaiming all the health and ammo I had - when you fail, you really do hit rock-bottom on this one. Oddly enough though, I think that's part of the charm, you work hard for every victory and when you do succeed, it's more worthwhile. Other games I've played like Max Payne 3 lately were over way too quickly (hours at most, but only an example) and left me thinking: "Was that too easy?" No 'real' difficulty at all, and although this one is old, and some would say outdated, I still appreciate being made to work to gain a victory.

So even though I keep getting my ass kicked by Mother Brain, that one piece of advice should give me a better shot, thanks :D
