Personally, I don't like the shoulders. I'd rather have bulky round shoulder pads than flat chest, humanoid shoulders that are as broad as an old school Buick.
And the color schemes are pretty awful. Except maybe he base one, with blue and tan.

Re: The world needs Metroid 5
It looks really awkward and gross, which was probably the intent but that doesn't make for an iconic design.
It's not supposed to look badass. Metroid Fusion was about being the underdog. Hey speaking of the Fusion suit are you ever gonna take another try at that redesign of yours? |
|
Re: The world needs Metroid 5I understand it's not supposed to look badass but read your response to the other quote. I also said it wasn't iconic, and I doubt anything that doesn't look bad ass would look iconic.
And yes, I have further plans for that concept. "I am tired of being under the weight of greedy men who don't believe in anything."

Re: The world needs Metroid 5
The fusion-power suit hybrid, if it were to appear in M5, would that mean that Samus would begin that way in all subsequent games or simply start out with the raw power suit again. And one last thing, the fusion suit actually looks amazing, but yes it is not iconic, I agree with that. |
|
Re: The world needs Metroid 5My concept entails having Samus start with the orange Fusion Suit from the end of Fusion and gain upgrades, eventually gaining more armor.

Re: The world needs Metroid 5
What about games subsequent to that. Will she still have the design of the hybrid suit after she has retrieved her power suit again? |
|
Re: The world needs Metroid 5Well then, you and I are on the same page. My concept revolves around Samus's suit rebuilding itself after the Federation sabotages her Fusion Suit. ![]()

Re: The world needs Metroid 5What if the federation is actually in complete control of her Fusion ship and blows it up right before her eyes? She then later recovers her old ship which turns out to have not been completely destroyed in the impact with the asteroid.
|
|
Re: The world needs Metroid 5I think that would be kind of far fetched.

Re: The world needs Metroid 5I agree with that. After all, if the Feds were in control of her ship, she wouldn't have even made it out of BSL because that shit would be far gone into space. ![]()

Re: The world needs Metroid 5
Link says hello But yeah, you're right. The Fusion suit is better off being a one-time thing. |
|
Re: The world needs Metroid 5The difference being, Samus started out iconically badass, anything less badass will in turn be less iconic and thus less memorable.
Link started in green, and when people think of Link they think of his green duds first. People think Varia Suit before Fusion. "I am tired of being under the weight of greedy men who don't believe in anything."

Re: The world needs Metroid 5I would argue that part of the reason Samus isn't as popular as she could be is that they tried so hard to make her look badass that she no longer looks human. There's more to making an iconic design than that.
But the solution isn't to make her look like a buff scuba diver covered in blue goop, so yeah I agree that Varia > Fusion. |

Re: The world needs Metroid 5
That doesn't make sense either. Boba Fett is one of the most popular Star Wars characters and how human did he seem? Darth Vader? She's not as popular as she could be because the games don't hold your hand and the rewards aren't in combat, it's in exploration. These things don't appeal to the majority of gamers, which is why it'll stay as a niche game in a niche genre. "I am tired of being under the weight of greedy men who don't believe in anything."

Re: The world needs Metroid 5At least it looks like a human can fit in Boba Fett's armor, or in Darth Vader's machines. And by the characterization of these two examples, they aren't even fully human. As for the comments about gamers, yeah, I agree. I call it the Era of Gaming Pussification. ![]()
