What 2D Metroid is Number 1?

Hmmm.......

You're lucky you didn't put the Prime games in this list, or else MP or MP2 would've been my choice...

Really, Super, Fusion, and Zero Mission are all extremely great games. All of them polished and well made, and fun to play.

Would you believe I finished Super the fastest out of those three? Fusion was 9 hours first time, Zero Mission was 5:48, and Super was 3:45. Of, course, on subsequent playthroughs, I've shaved them all down to sub-4 hours...

My favorite would probably... be... Zero Mission (with Fusion and Super JUST behind... a hair's length, really). If only for the sheer number of different ways to play, amount of sequence breaking, and altogether being an impressive package. Fusion is difficult and fun to play every now and then, and Super is a really fun summer afternoon.

i'll support that. just cause its not a metroid game doesn't mean it's not enjoyable. and vice versa.

Ah yes it is the title is Metroid Pinball but I think you are refering to the gameplay. I agree with Emporer Ing its better than MPH!!!!!!!

Again, my opinion of MPH is that it wasn't meant as a serious Metroid title. More like a testing ground for new ideas. The ideas that people liked (interplanetary travel, Sylux, the inspiration for Rundas, etc) were used in Corruption, and (judging by the ending cutscene) will do so again in the next title. The ideas people didn't like (everything else) were not.
