The number one is Super Metroid :p

In this order:

Super>Fusion>Zero Mission>Return of Samus>Original.

Original is fun, but hopelessly outdated (no crouching or shooting at angles makes the controls too unwieldy, imo). It may have better music and graphics than m2, but not by a large enough margin to make up for the controls.

If that's the case, why were you and AMetroidGuy discussing Dark Samus a few posts back? I know Dark Samus isn't from a "classic" Metroid title.

I like SA-X because she felt more original, and was scarier. But DS is awesome as well. When I fought the first Dark Samus battle in MP2 on hard mode, it was absolutely epic. For some reason it wasn't that way with the second battle.

They were seperately conceived at about the same time by two independent groups. But I think Lazarius meant that the “evil twin/clone” thing is a very old trope.

Oh, yeah. Plus the fact that she's an 'original clone' makes no sense. What I meant was that an evil clone of Samus felt more original the first time with SAX then with Dark Samus.
