Create a Metroid Upgrade

Morningstar

The Meta-Kinetic Repulsor Field Projector (or "Morningstar" for short) is an upgrade to Samus' arm cannon. This weapon functions on the same principle as the speed booster, power beam, and screw attack, projecting kinetic energy without need of a physical medium. The Chozo designed this upgrade to serve as a melee weapon for their armored infantry.

The Morningstar is activated the same way that different beam modules (ice, plasma, etc) would be. If this hypothetical game contains a stackable beam system, the blade should be compatible with all your other mods. You can now beat the snot out of your enemies with the arm cannon, just like in SSB. To beat the baddies, press A, and Samus will smack them instead of shooting (you can still fire missiles as normal).

The Morningstar makes Samus less vulnerable in melee. Now she can go head to head with those scythe-wielding Space Pirate yahoos. If this is a Wii game, the Morningstar should be like swordfighting in Zelda; done by swinging the wiimote. Otherwise, just press A, and Samus will punch whatever's in front of her.

Tractor Beam

In following Corruption's stackable grapple beam upgrades, the tractor beam will make Samus' grapple beam truly a weapon in its own right. Lock onto enemies and engage the grapple beam. If the enemy is smaller than you, you can pull it closer. If it is larger, you can pull yourself toward it. Perfect for pulling those pesky fliers down to ground level, where you can hit them more easily.

Additionally, this beam has a repulsor function; you can push enemies away from you (or yourself away from them). If there happens to be a pit of lava or something nearby, you could even throw smaller enemies into it and watch them burn.

Some enemies should be immune to this weapon. Particularly, I envision metroids as being immune. Additionally, more advanced Space Pirates (like commandos) probably have gadgets that protect them from being grappled.

Antigrav Jump

If Space Pirates can invent jet packs, the Chozo certainly can. Instead of the space jump, you can choose to activate a short-lived levitation system. It isn't as fast as the space jump/screw attack, and it doesn't last as long, but it grants more maneuverability and lets you shoot in midair.

Assuming it can only provide short bursts of flight, it shouldn't ruin Metroid's classic theme of ground-based exploration.

The Stealth Ray:

Using awesome ancient and convenient Chozo technology, Samus can now shoot concentrated darkness and have areas of it cover the ground. She hides in it, allowing some of the stupider and more aggressive wildlife bypass it, but of course, Intelligent Species like Space Pirates will notice huge balls of darkness lying around the place, and will investigate. However, Samus can use that to her advantage and ambush Space Pirates as they caustiously enter in!

Eh. That sucks.
must be some sorta side effect of the hatchling or maybe she should stop going down on Miyamoto.

Cipher

These psionic devices were created by the chozo mystery-cultists of Tallon IV. Using a combination of biotech, pan-dimensional energy fields, and psionic construction, a Cipher can house the disembodied spirit of a chozo ghost. It was the corruption of certain Ciphers that dragged the enlightened spirits back to Tallon IV at the leviathan's hungry behest, and other Ciphers were instrumental in sealing the beast away.

At least one Cipher seems to be modularly compatible with the varia suit. The spirit that dwells within can make you intangible for short periods by converting Samus and her armor into metaphysical matter. While intangible, you cannot be hurt, and you can pass through solid objects like walls. However, like the hypermode from Corruption, it slowly drains your health, and terminates automatically after a few seconds.

The spirit can also communicate telepathically with Samus, and is a much less annoying hint giver than Adam or the auroras.

Morph Beam

This powerup works in tandem with the Boost Ball and Power Bombs to fire a sustained beam of concentrated energy. Requires 1 Power Bomb to start and sustain.

Samus's Notes:
The Morph Beam uses the charging function of the Boost Ball and the firepower of a Power Bomb to fire a straight beam of energy out of the opening in the middle of the Morph Ball. While firing, The Morph Ball remains stationary. The laser's angle can be aimed while firing along the opening of the morph ball with the Control Stick. Choose the Morph Ball's position carefully before firing!

Shock Ball

This powerup works in tandem with the Boost Ball to stun enemies for a few seconds.

Samus's Notes:
The Shock Ball uses the charging function of the Boost Ball to launch a ring-shaped wave of electrical energy from the opening of the Morph Ball. This wave of energy stuns any creatures with an effect similar to the aftereffect of a charged Wave Beam shot.

Bomb Scatter
This powerup works in tandem with the Charge Beam and Bombs to launch 10 bobs in succession in random directions all around Samus.

Samus's Notes:
To use the Bomb Scatter, charge any beam fully and them morph. The scattered Bombs have the initial effect and damage equal to a regular shot of the selected beam, with an aftereffect similar to the effect of a charged shot of the selected beam, only weaker. (i.e. a Bomb Scatter preformed with the plasma beam will set enimies on fire for about one second.)

EDIT

Stack Visor
This upgrade allows the functions of manyvisors to be combined into the combat visor.

Samus's Notes:
The Stack Visor upgrade allows the functions of other visors to be intergrated into the Combat Visor, and show up when they are needed. For example, the thermal visor would allow things best seen by heat to be displayed as they would in the thermal visor, but everything else would be displayed in the style of the Combat Visor. Same with the Dark Visor, and Echo visor, only that with the echo visor, one could see important sound waves. And the scan visor would automatically scan enimies when you locked onto the with this upgrade, but not display the scan info.
Of course, one would stil be able to switch between visors, in the event that one may wish to gain the full effect of a particular visor, but the Stack Visor would make enimies like Dark Pirate Commandos much easier.

Lithe Suit

This is a very stripped-down version of the Varia suit. It's arm cannon is not as compatible with most beams, but can still hold a weak charge and a single stacked beam. If equipped with proper thermal regulators it can support the Ice Beam. The suit itself is thinner and less protective, but much more versatile. The balance is fine-tuned for close combat, with the calves and forearms being heavier. This allows Samus to kick and swing with surprising force but still be able to bend her body effectively. It is designed to be compatible with all melee-ready upgrades including the Screw Attack, Boost Ball and Grapple Beam/Tractor Beam combo; and it comes with built-in Morningstar on both the forearms and calves (the suit was said to be built around the same time as the Morningstar when the Chozo began to focus more on melee combat technique). It also incorporates kinetic energy modules similar to the Boost Ball which allow Samus to kick and punch with added energy, however this takes time to charge and can be damaging to the user's body if charged too much. The shoulderpads are noticeably smaller and incorporate electromagnetic force generators hooked up to gyroscopic actuators to ensure balance beyond the ability of the human inner ear. It has been suggested that the Space Pirates had research on this Chozo suit before any humans did, leading to the development of what are casually referred to as "ninja pirates".

Brute Suit: Suit upgrade that massively increases its armor and physical strength at the sacrifice of speed and mobility. It stands 10 ft tall and weighs over a ton. The armor is thicker and more powerful allowing her to with stand much greater punishment. The arm cannon is larger and there for packs much more punch. Normal shots are the equivalent of charged shots and can be fired off very quickly. The down side is its slower and less mobile. Incompatible with space jump, spider ball, speed boost and shinespark. Hi jump works but is less effective. Its morph ball form would be too large to fit in most smaller passages.

I got the idea when looking at this fanart: http://shadowdeathnaruto.deviantart.com ... n-40105363

She's pretty much a walking tank(as if she wasn't already.)

Hm, I was just about to do something like that to complete my little fanart description. http://fallenarms3.deviantart.com/art/Samus-x3-84175367

OK, let's see.

Beam Sword:
A sword that comes out of the Arm Cannon. Great for Melee combat. Can cut through almost anything.

Samus' notes:
The only objects encountered that are not cut by the Beam Sword are highly-magnetized objects.

Genetocyst Not a weapon upgrade per se, but a summonable machine that hovers around Samus. When an enemy is in range, it flies toward that enemy and latches on (similar to a metroid), scrambling the foe's DNA and causing violent mutations.
