Maybe we should be glad, they never made a Metroid 64. By now it's graphics probably would look early 3d cheesey. And it would have been just after the death of Gumpei Yokoi. We should be glad that Samus' first leap into 3d was 8 years later. Would Metroid 64 be stellar like Ocrania of Time or Mario64? I don't know.
Just for laughs. Have you noticed the more unpopular consoles or portables for Nintendo didn't have a Metroid title? (Virtual Boy and N64)

So when do we tell them about the Metroid II GBC update?
Actually, we'd better not do that, IIRC there actually was a Metroid II DX in the works, but it was cancelled.

But what about the gold-cart NES port? Nah, after this thread they’d think we were making it up anyway.

Actually, I've played it on the computer in color, on the Visual Boy. Looks good. (No kidding here.)

That gold-cart was a hoax......wasn't it?

Let's settle this. There never was any Metroid for N64.

We already admitted (I thought) that yes, Metroid 64 was a joke.
But we do have this gold Metroid II cart for NES...

I recently watched a friend play the illustrious Megaman Legends, and I imagine a third person, 3D metroid would play similarly. This game is wonderfully made, and you can tell the creators poured their hearts into it, given the meager hardware. Just the high-jumping animations alone made me freak. To sound uppity, the "virtual sensation" looked amazing. Even the ENGLISH voice acting is awesome, a total rarity.

1. MegaMan Legends is FREAKING AWESOME. SAY OTHERWISE AND FACE THE WRATH OF MY FRIEND MORGAN.
2. Ain't that the truth... Usually, they only use the Japanese VA... Take Marth and Roy from SSBM for example. -_-
3. It'd probably be similar, but if it was, then I think they'd leave out the uberly-awesome customization... Or not.
Currently Playing: Metroid Prime (GCN)
Next: Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (Wii)
Then: Metroid Fusion (GBA), Metroid: Zero Mission (GBA), or Metroid Prime: Hunters (NDS)

Why not just try to see if you can actually obtain a copy of 'Metroid 64' using the site I posted, instead of dismissing it as a typo?
No, seriously. Someone (or a group of people) could provide the funding for it.
